So I was curious and went to read some recent reviews of Flamingo, they were TERRIBLE. Most complaints were about the elevator and check in time, so whats going on with the elevators and which elevators are the ones with the issue? I already have anxiety in elevators (im crazy, dont ask) and if I can figure out a way to use the ones that arent the issue, or get a lower floor to take the stairs..... until I get drunk enough to forget my fear?
Anyways, if anyone on the VMB who will be at the Flamingo before me, could let me know about the hotel, i would appreciate it!

    Thanks!

Yelp reviews are notoriously horrible for LV resorts. Some say the elevators are slow, some say they have never had a problem. The check in line is long and slow at times. If you are a TR member check in at the TR desk, I have never seen more than a handful of folks waiting there. I stayed at Flamingo a couple years ago and while I prefer Bally's our stay was just fine. We didn't die in an elevator and we checked in within minutes.

I've stayed at flamingo a minimum of 50 times, and never, ever had a problem. There are 3 banks of elevators at Flamingo. The Flamingo is basically an "L" shaped hotel, there is a bank of elevators by the "garden/Zoo" entrance which is at the bottom of 1 L, there is another bank by the check in desk which is the middle of the "L". And another bank by the pool entrance which is the other end of the "L". You can actually take any bank of elevators and get to your room, it's just that 1 bank may be closer to your room than the others. It's actually easier to walk through the hotel to get to one end than to walk through the casino because everyone in the casino doesn't have a clue where they are at. Also, if your room is at the garden end there is an entrance that comes right through by the Linq.

As far as the lobby, I am diamond so I never wait, I have seen some horrific lines at peak times and on holidays. Total rewards card holders do have a separate line, and if you made your reservation through the total rewards website you should be given the opportunity to check in online and they will text or call you when your room is ready.

It's your birthday so just go to the pool and have a great time and don't worry. I've had more great times at the flamingo pool, when it gets hopping and the music is pumping, you will have a great birthday!

i Stayed there December last year and the line was a long to check - in but it moved quickly enough and they handed out bottle water to us while we where waiting. Or you might want to wait until 6-7 when the the line seemed to be much smaller than the 4pm rush. One lift was a bit jumpy just before it stopped at the destination floor but did not worry me that much.

I stayed there in june and noticed 3 of the 10 elevators (not sure if I used all 10) were shakey. 1 of the elevators wouldn't shut the doors until the third try when it started beeping continuously and forced itself shut. The only bank of elevators I used were near the steak house/small cafe.

If you search the forum, I remember a thread from a few months ago with a lot of feedback on the Flamingo elevators. Much like this thread, seems to be different opinions. Some reported no issues, others complained of long waits, slow moving, shaking, etc.

I think I also remember someone saying that they heard the Flamingo was replacing their elevators sometime this year, not sure of the validity on that though...

I was there in June also. Half of the elevators for the Garden Tower were shut down. The people that I talked to said they were redoing all of the elevators to make them faster, safer, and yes...less shakey. Sorry, I forgot to ask when they would be finished. The long lines are people that aren't Total Rewards members. Sign up for TR online, if you haven't done so already, and like the people above me said, you will be able to bypass the long wait.

Habitat elivators 4/10 worked in June. One got to the 4th floor (down). Then shot all the way back up. Avoid.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I am a Platinum TR Member & have stayed at Flamingo, but not since 2013 & I remember, vaguely, The elevators by the pool always scaring me, but the garden ones were ok. I dont think i knew of the 3rd set, Is it right by the TR desk & Box office for X Burlesque?
I was just hoping for an update as of now, really.
Were getting in so early (730am) I doubt the Platinum check in will be open.

If you getting in that early lines will not be a factor at all! There will likely only be one worker at the desk and no one in line. You will be VIP!
