Just joined today, attempted to do a couple searches on the board to see what people have said about Gold Diggers and have come up empty. Looks like a couple people have also asked, but no replies.

My wife and I will be headed downtown for the first time in well over 5 years. Traditionally when we stay on the strip, we always talk about going to a club... but eventually 'chicken out'. To be honest, not sure why. Maybe it's the scantily dressed women (wait, maybe that is a reason to go :wink2:).

Does anyone have insight into Gold Diggers. Atmosphere? Dress attire? Music? When it opens?

My last trip report I mentioned how my friends went to a club that seemed to cater to women with large, well, "assets". It was this club. I did not go, but my friends said the music was hip hop and R&B. And there was also a large contingent of women with large rear ends wearing extra tight clothes getting hit on by a lot of different guys. Not sure if that is how it is every night or if it was some kind of fetish night that evening only. They went on a Thursday night and there was no line at the downstairs elevator to get in. Hope that helps

Thanks for the info! So far... doesn't sound like a lounge for us. Maybe someone else had a different experience.

It's more of a bar / lounge than a real nightclub. I don't think there's even a cover charge. The clientele can be a bit lower class as a result though so I'm not surprised by the above comments.

My advice would be to go and have a drink or two... if you don't like it then just leave, no big deal.

Well said. That really did make it simple. Especially being there isn't a cover.

I attempted to go there for the Toad concert at FSE 1st St stage...I wanted to watch from the balcony.
They were asking a $5 cover, and told me that to get a patio table, there was a $300 drink minimum.

That was more alcohol than my brother & I would be able to consume...shocking, I know...but true!

Gold Diggers is a fun time... I've been there twice though to be fair it's been a couple years since my last visit. It's not gonna provide the full Vegas nightclub experience like the top tier clubs, but then you're also not gonna have to max out a credit-card to spend a few hours there either. I LOVE the balcony that overlooks Fremont St. for some good people watching.

+1. I was there last week and the balcony offers a great view for nightly concerts on the 1st Street Stage next to Binions. It opens @ 9:00 PM. As Topcard mentioned above they charge BIG TIME for special concerts. Usually you can get a free coupon for a free drink. Definitely a great view for people watching on Fremont Street. During the week it is not crowded at all on the balcony. Definitely worth a visit.

I've always thought about heading up there and checking it out, but never have. Next trip I'm planning on going downtown on Tuesday, and of course they are closed on Tuesdays.

Does anyone know how much bottle service is on an average Friday or Saturday night?

I went in 2012 and had quite a blast. I feel awkward standing next to my shadow and I didn't feel at all out of place there as a 36 year old, not very well dressed, dude with friends. It was a lot of fun and carried over to the room: breaks applied before too much stupidity...

We had the balcony booked there for our post wedding party. It was a ton of fun and the bottles were dirt cheap. The atmosphere is chill and music is pretty good although a bit loud inside by the dance floor. Only negative was they didn't allow you to wear hats.
