Anyone stayed at Mirage recently. I have read that they have done a lot of remodeling of the casino area.
Booked a tower room for end of August.

I was there over July 4th weekend. While they have cleared out the old HL Slot room, they had not yet started construction of the new center bar...most likely will not be complete before your trip. Cashier cage has been moved across the aisle, at the front of the old poker room. Poker room has been condensed. Craps tables have been moved to the area in front of the poker room and box office.

I just stayed there over Memorial Day weekend. I would rate it as average.

    Things I liked:
    - Service was above par - room service, casino, and restaurant. One of the best I have seen for a mid-tier strip casino.
    - Pool area was clean and not overcrowded
    - check in an out was quick and no problems getting in my room by 1pm
    - good selection of off-sale if you want to bring drinks to your room
    - Location is great
    - Buffet was fantastic. for a bit over $20 (which i was comped anyway), it's a heck of a deal and includes all you can drink beer and wine (limited selection)
    - good selection of slots, although see below
    - Room was updated, clean, quiet

    Things I didn't like:
    - high limit slot area sucks in my opinion - nobody playing and super tight
    - all the slots were tight as hell except for my last day there (stayed Sunday-Thursday)
    - tables were crowded and poker room is very small and hard to get a table on
    - Took forever to get a coffee in the morning!!! Everyday I waited almost 30 minutes to get a dang Starbucks.
    - not a fan of the bars - A lot of them were completely empty or closed altogether. I hate being in an empty bar

Overall, my room was completely comped for four nights, so I can't complain too much. Probably wouldn't stay there if I wasn't comped. Would prefer a place like Cosmo or Venetian.

I've stayed at the Mirage at least 10 times, and your comments are spot on, and would apply to any year except for the renovations. My wife and I will be there for 5 nights starting August 9th. We have 3 comp nights/no resort fee, plus added two nights. Also free play and resort credits were extended. We used some AmEx points to pick up $300 in Mirage gift cards....hotel is more than covered. We had a comparable offer from the Mandalay Bay but we prefer the Mirage/location over MB. Nothing like having our car valet parked after a show offsite, and walking to the other nearby resorts....drinking, gambling and no driving. Your comment about the wait for coffee is so true, whether it's Starbucks or the coffee shop near the pool.....good coffee, but always a wait.
