Got a Total Rewards Visa this week, part of the deal is 2 free buffets, with an upgrade fee at Bacchanal. Anyone know how much that is? And how do you get the free buffets, just by using your card there?

The current bonus is not passes to the Buffet of Buffets - when the card was initially offered, you got two "Buffet of Buffet" passes (which I did when I joined). Then they revised the bonus to two tickets on the High Roller. I just checked and the new bonus is a choice of either:

    A) Two Buffet passes at any Total rewards destination (not 24 hour Buffet of Buffets passes - just two one time only passes to one buffet at the Total Rewards buffet of your choice).

    B) Two Tickets on the High Roller

    C) One free night in Atlantic City.

Yup, JR is correct, they've changed it. It's just the 2 buffet passes with the option to upgrade to Bacchanal. If the upgrade is reasonable, say $15 or so, I'd do that as I don't like any of the other CET buffets.

I was also curious about this supplemental charge. We wouldn't mind the extra fee because of the quality over the other buffet options. And we can just 'pay for' the charge with out reward credits on our account. Was still interested to know what the upgrade charge is. I'm sure it's in the $20-$30 range per person.

I found out that it used to be $15 but I've heard conflicting reports that it's now anywhere from $15-20. We'll also just pay with rewards credits anyway. I'll be out there before you, I'll post when I get back.

I can't seem to find any current information on the upgrade charge for the Bacchanal buffet either. 2 years ago, the upgrade charge used to be $15 for breakfast, $20 for lunch and $25 for dinner. It's probably gone up since then, but I would guess that would be in the ball park.

I can't remember how quickly we got the voucher when we signed up a few years ago, but I know we never got to use it as it expired in 90 days (April) and we weren't going until May.

Here is the answer. (I am holding the voucher in my hand):
The upcharge for Rio Seafood Buffet is $20.
The Bacchanal Regular Days is $15 for breakfast, $25 for lunch, and $30 for dinner
On weekends Fri, Sat, Sunday $30 for brunch. $40 for dinner.

Oops, forgot part two. Just go to any TR booth, we used the Rio since we are staying there.
(Got the e-standby into a Masquerade Suite). They verify using your TR card the date you got the visa and
print a receipt/voucher that you give to the cashier at the buffet of your choice.

Thank you. My voucher just says there is an upgrade fee for Bacchanal but doesn't list the price.

VV: That is the same as mine, I accidently left it at home and found out you could go to the TR booth without it and they print out a comp slip that has all of the pricing.
We are planning on hitting the Bacchanal tonight for dinner.

Thank you. I was curious about this also. I assume the upgrade fee is per person, not for both total? Just thought I'd ask. Thanks again!

So the CC incentive is something "free" that could cost up to $40/person to use?

No the upcharges listed are for 2 people. Wife and I enjoyed the Bacchanal tonight and the total add-on was $30.

Is this correct? It's not per person for the two comp. vouchers for bacchanal? That's pretty outstanding news!
