Just wondering if anyone is attending UFC 189. I just confirmed my trip for that weekend and can get tickets but wondering if it will be worth it.

I assume that as with most events the better seats are preferable but is it worth it if they are the cheap seats.

    Any info would be great.

That would be July 11th but can't seem to change the title.

Awesome! Captain Ron actually texted me about this last night. He said this is the biggest fight in awhile.

This means you will be out when a bunch of us are out there, correct?

I will be out at the same time. Flying in on Friday and out on Monday. Heading out solo so I don't have any plans yet.

Looks like the Main event is questionable. Jose Aldo has a fractured rib and not sure if the fight is going to happen. If that fight is off I would say it is NOT worth it. We will see what the UFC will do in the next couple of days.

If Aldo is out the event just got a whole lot less interesting. Lawler beat the brakes off McDonald in their last fight and I don't see this one going any different. I was thinking McGregor Aldo would be really good with McGregor getting the win. I think he is to big for Aldo and that would be the difference. I was debating whether to go to the fight or just watch it somewhere.

Oh and about your question of is it worth going, you have to sit close to get the most out of the fights. I have been to three events, sat close twice and it was awesome. The last time we went we sat in a box with the fighters ringside, it was awesome. Sitting far away the cage gets in the way and blurs the action. Its a great time though if you have never been, just the vibe alone is amazing.

Thanks for the info. When it comes to fight tickets, I am definitely a little fish in the comp department. I can get the 2nd tier ticket which I believe puts me on the floor but in the stands. Should be close enough to see and just up enough to see over everyone. If anyone else is going, let me know as it would be great to meet a few people.

On a side note: can one of the mods change the thread title to show July and not June. Thanks

my plan is to be there. ringside of course. but I've been trying to get some friends to come and so far everybody is booked. not sure if I want to bother solo.

    absolutely.

the only reason I was going was for that fight.

no fight, no chance for me.

the 2nd tier tickets are on the end at the back or in the upper level.

basically any good ticket is in the first tier at these events.

This is totally F up.... I have no offers for tickets. I just called and was told nothing for the UFC fight

I have a Free room and More freaking Resort Credits and show tickets for Aria but not to UFC fight. MLIFE is on my SHIT list....

You guys have fun at the fight. Maybe we can hit the tables afterwards.

I'll be there that weekend but not at the fight.

Not exactly what I wanted to hear. I am shocked that a $740+ ticket is still not a good ticket. If the fight isn't going to be that good, I might just change it in for 4 of the lower tier tickets and give them away.

I am a little shocked that you can't get tickets .... I guess you need a better MGM host. ;)

I will be a regular at Whiskey Down that weekend if you or anyone else wants to grab a drink.

I think it has something to do with the nasty letters and phone calls I made to MGM and Aria in March.

Plus the fact that they saw I had my front money deposited at Wynn and not at MGM and the lack of play at Aria.

Good news Wynn has been great so of the two I think I would rather have Wynn over MGM.

I do not watch ufc but as I said, pphold has first dibs for my tix if I switch hotels. If he doesn't need them, they are up for grabs.
