Posting this from the room right now. I usually have very good experiences here. I never expect Vegas level quality or service, but for Tunica, GS is usually top notch. But not this weekend :grrr: List of problems: suite not ready upon arrival even though I was checking in at 5pm, being harassed by security as I walked onto the casino floor, clogged toilet in the room, having to call multiple times to get a do not disturb sign to hang on the door, some horribly stained furniture that asked to be either cleaned or simply removed (neither happened), and an inordinate number of flies in the buffet.

I don't expect everything to be perfect, but all the little things added up this trip. I haven't stayed here in a couple months, so I hope this weekend is just an aberration. If not, time to start thinking about staying at Horseshoe ....

Usually they are pretty good, sorry for the problems. I hope your luck at the tables is better.

What do you consider "Harrased by Security"?
I know when we were in Tunica, we went back and forth between 'Shoe and 'Strike and EVERY TIME we'd get stopped by security, and ID checked.
It got annoying...but then again, we look like teenagers, so...I guess it's a big problem there in Tunica? (NEVER have been carded in Reno, lol)

Yeah, we get carded in Tunica a lot now too. Particularly at the Shoe and the Strike. When we first started going there, we got carded less. Same goes with Vegas.

Here is what our whirlpool tub looked like at the Roadhouse last trip UK. Maintenance said the last people likely used bubble bath. It went away after he cycled a lot of water through. We did get their newly implemented bullshit resort fees waived though for the inconvenience!

Also ate the buffet at Gold Strike this last trip and didn't notice any flies. That's very unappetizing.

Hope the rest of your trip goes better!

The Gold Strike used to be my home casino in Tunica. When I called and tried to get a comp room they didn't even ask for my card number, they just said no. So we went to the Horseshoe and a great time. Played about an hour at GS and now I can't stop the comps from being emailed and ground mailed to me.. Try the Horseshoe, if enough people complain/don't go to the GS maybe they will wise up and make some changes. Tunica is slowly dying and all the casinos need to try harder.

    Tring,
Strangely, the room we had at 'Shoe had the same type of Tub...maybe we had a "upgraded" room? (cuz we're diamond, AND it was a Sunday night?)

I don't consider that harassment. Annoying is appropriate, though

Have you raised hell with your host? I'll agree some of the housekeeping/maintenance staff seem to have an don't give a fuck attitude.
