Hi, I noticed this morning that a lot of room rewards are gone, almost all restaurant awards sold out, etc. what is going on? (examples of rooms gone: MGM weekend, Luxor weekend, Mandalay weekend, ....)

Just another example of the diminishing value of playing MyVegas.
The dining offers are mostly "stay required" or down to a 2 for 1 deal. Shows are mainly companion tickets.
My wife and I have almost 2 million between us, and the options really are minimal for us.
I think I'll use what I can for our Sept. trip and then be done with the game.

They recently took away the Bellagio Dinner buffet for 2. I was waiting to buy it, soon as I got within the 90 day mark...poof...it was gone. Having a hard time this upcoming trip finding 3 I care about. Right now $50 Free Play at MGM, monorail 2/1, possibly the 2/1 Dinner Bellagio ( still a decent deal at $20 pp) maybe the Wolfgang Puck 2/1 entree...if I ever see them available. The good thing is I won't spend a lot of lps this trip.

I got the $50 credit @ MC, 2 dinner buffets @ Aria & Bellagio shortly after I was less than 90 days away from our July trip. My wife recently found out that she has meetings that she cannot miss when we were supposed to be in Vegas so we decided to postpone our trip by a couple of weeks. My rewards were going to expire right before our new dates so I canceled them. Now the 2 Bellagio buffet passes aren't even available, & practically every thing good is always sold out. Hopefully I'll be able to get the aria buffet & mc rewards back.

look for restock in next few days with the wording rewritten on some rewards. May increase lp's, but will be new batch. Nothing has been restocked, except returns in last few days, as far as any message board has seen. Patience grasshopper. Or it's over?

I am guessing it is over. Myvegas has been going in one direction since it started and lately the Social Rewards have been matching it. At least with social rewards it works out to extra spending cash rather then a bunch of rewards that nobody even cares about.

The meltdowns have begun on the myvegas facebook groups

With the new changes last week they are up in arms again. I do wish that myvegas would send out a flyer so to speak that states - in 3 days there will be changes -- no weekend rooms and no more 2 premium show tickets - or something to that effect. I have been playing from almost the beginning so I have had some great rewards. I actually prefer the freeplay more than anything now. But holy moley was there a rumble on the facebook groups this weekend. I felt like I had a front row. People get so personal and hateful. -- on both sides of the spectrum - I do think that as time goes by people are going to be required to buy chips and to stay at only mlife properties to redeem.

Some of the rewards are pretty lame on there. Was just browsing tonight and everything was sold out pretty much. I dont mind if you have to stay at MGM properties to redeem. I mean if I was a schmuck who bought chips and spent money on myvegas I would be really mad. Those are the people really getting the shaft. They should just kick the rewards up a notch and make them all having to stay at their property to redeem.

Are these meltdowns due to an official announcement from MyVegas or just the lack of refreshed rewards over the last few days? Anyone know what's actually going on, or is it all speculation?

I have 350K points banked, and was a big player on MyVegas I think I am like level 880 now. I would buy chips for decent promotions etc.
With the rewards having gotten so lame now, its pretty much time to walk away. The return is no longer worth the effort. I think MGM is going to keep
pushing the return value lower and lower, till they find the breaking point and then real it back slightly.

Like all profit machines, in the normal business world you keep trying to lower your overhead, improve margin, and continue growth. MGM has not hit that mix yet or is trying to pillage quickly what they see
is a product with a limited shelf life.

i think until any announcements are made it's all speculation!
As Nick alluded to, everyone likes a moan and complaint on the internet!
Maybe contacting MyVegas for an update would be sensible?

The complaining could be avoided with a simple "heads up" that things are going to change but they don't do that. As far as contacting myVegas for an update, the response "we are making some changes" is all that you are going to get. The people in the "fan groups" do ask questions of those that are affiliated with playstudios and myVegas and are always told "stay tuned....we are making changes" or "we do not know if that reward will be coming back at this time".
I sit with 1.5 mil LP and probably will never get around to utilizing....oh well :) I have been a day late and a dollar short with getting the decent rewards before they were pulled.

Crap! We still had 2 more rewards to get and monorail. Everything says sold out that we had any interest in. Hopefully something will be back in the next few days.

So yeah, if this is the new norm, it WILL be the end of MyVegas.

MGM views it as a customer acquisition marketing program, players view it as a place to get free stuff forever program. With occupancy rates up, MGM doesn't need us. I still like some of the remaining rewards.

What I want to see is whether myvegas shifts to station casinos. I've always wanted to build more new hotels on the strip.
