Looking for one sit down meal at a Cosmo restaurant. Between Jaleo, Rose Rabbit Lie or the others what would you go for and why? This is for a pre-show dinner so China Poblano and the Henry are out. So is the sushi restaurant.

I'm a terrible person to ask, but I slightly sampled Jaleo in Feb. 2012 with some buddies, I threw $20 to the pool to sample a few select things. They were alright, but I never would think it's worth the price since I am a huge tightass. The total cost was $800 for about 10 people with drinks included. I also paid $200 toward the bill on a card to pocket $180 in cash, because they kicked my ass in poker the night before...Yikes!

The reason why I am skeptical on Jaleo s that we have a great Spanish restaurant near us in Valpo. That is sort of why I am leaning towards RRL

I REALLY liked Jaleo. We sat in the bar area and it was very social - we were chatting with other tables about what they had that looked good etc- it was fun and we had some great dishes, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Others have said they had better at Aria, but my vote is Jaleo.

I had asked for feedback on RRL- most said to skip it for the dining. If you look at the menu, it's got a lot of more strange things, and looks like it would be more expensive too. I'd be inclined to have dinner at Jaleo, do the show, then head to RRL for a dessert and after dinner drink just to get the experience of it.

It's not on your list but Scarpetta is great.
I have enjoyed a couple excellent meals there and will return in August.
    Worth a try!

Avoid STK. Not worth it imo.

Thanks I will look at that. I did not consider it.

Stk I probably would not do, unless it got tons of recommendations..

Make sure you are very familiar with the menu at RRL before you commit an evening. We spent a whole night there back when Vegas Nocturne was playing and while the food looked very interesting, some of it was very, very different. Several folks commented that they had no clue what they were even getting and some of it wasn't exactly the type of thing I would want to eat before a night out!

I prefer Scarpetta over Jaleo, given the choice.

I used to love Jaleo but i think it's slid downhill a bit since it opened, Julian Serrano is much better for tapas.

    Scarpetta's spaghetti is amazing.

See I have heard that a few times...and i am intrigued. I just know how much pasta costs and usually never eat pasta out. While I know the pallea is mostly rice and also cheap it does take more effort to cook. We for sure would get that if we go. I wanna limit this meal to cosmo as we are staying there and seeing the show there. Also looking to go for gold and need all the points I can get.

    Where is serrano?

Serrano is in Aria so it wouldn't work with your parameters.
