Vdara or Ceasars

going for a week and wondering which one to stay at.
I hear vadra has a small pool and no place to eat but if much newer.

 

Vdara, just walking from your room to the lobby at Caesars is longer than the walk from Vdara to Aria, bellagio or Cosmo
and you can also use the Aria pool I believe

 

Really it depends what you are looking for. Vdara is quieter with no casino, very limited food choice ( a small shop sells microwaveable food), but the rooms have a kitchenette which is nice for doggie bags or if you want to have a quiet day in your room. Rooms are good sized but I think they felt a bit chopped up as they put a dividing wall between the sitting and sleeping areas. Pool is small. Vdara is IMO just an extension of Aria and the walk is not bad to either "B" or Aria. If I was going to look at Vdara I would just stay at Aria. As for CP, people may exaggerate the walking distance within the hotel. Distances to the casino vary depending on which tower you get. Octavious- long walk, Augustus- no too bad, Palace- very short. As for walking to the strip, yes CP sits back but I don't think it is any further back than "B" and not much more than Mirage. Lots of food choices, but no low end prices. And the pools are really nice. As for rooms they vary from large and very nice (Octavious 5*, Augustus 4 1/2*, and some say Palace 3* towers IMO as they are the only ones I have been in) to average- Forum, to below average- Roman. The last two are strictly from reading reviews on VMB. Best of luck on your choice, but either is nice as long you do your homework.

 

any of the Vdara rooms face bellago fountains?

 

Yes,We were on a high floor(cannot remember the room number but had a great view of the fountains.

Asking about Caesars vs.VDara.......They are on opposite ends of the Vegas spectrum.
Caesars is over the top, crowded, and traditional Vegas theme. Vdara somewhat understated and usually quiet.
Caesars has a spectacular pool area while Vdara has a small one but you can use Aria's pool which is very nice.

Vdara also is located perfectly between Aria,Bellagio,and Cosmo so you have access to all their restaurants and bars.

I have stayed at Caesars several times but not a big fan.

 

There are many, many hotels on the strip with all kinds of good and bad... some not so bad, but just different.

Without knowing your plans, budget, likes, dislikes it is very difficult to answer. It is possible that neither of those choices is good for you. Maybe.

 

I would definitely choose Caesars. Vdara seems very dull and sterile. It lacks the excitement of a real Vegas hotel. There's something about walking through a casino and hearing the noise and buzz as you come off the elevator.

Rooms are great at Vdara. And Vdara is a lot cheaper too.

I'd check to see if you can use Aria pools, which are wonderful. Vdara pool area is small and void of atmosphere.

For me... Caesars is the clear winner.

 

I stayed at vdara a few years back and had a terrible experience... agree with others who say it's bland, dull and sterile. Its also very inconvenient walking to get to LV Blvd.
The pool overlooks a parking garage and is totally no-frills, just chairs and the standard pool.

Someone said earlier in the thread that you can use Aria's pool, if that's true, then that is much better, but again, it's a hike to Aria's pool. Aria's pool is much nicer though and worth it.

 

I've stayed at the Vdara and the pool area makes you feel like you are a bug under a magnifying glass. I could actually smell my lounge chair melting from the intense heat. They are not lying when they call it the "Vdara Death Ray".

 

I've stayed in both . . . I won't stay at Vdara again. Room was fine - but agree sterile, with little food options. We went there to sleep and that was it. We stayed at the Octavian Tower and enjoyed that and the pool very much. Again . . . depends on your tastes, budget, etc.

 

If hanging out at a pool is important, then Vdara isn't the best choice.

For many other reasons:

• Non-smoking property
• Peace and quiet
• Close to 3 different hotel's casinos and restaurants (Aria, Cosmo, Bellagio)
• Aria-level room quality at < Aria/Bellagio level prices
• Easy to drive into and out of

...then Vdara is awesome.

 

Seems like the anti-Vdara thread.

I feel this is the best place on the strip to stay in Vegas (Platinum MLIFE with lots of choices....I choose this joint).

- It's not a new property, but it's the nicest property regarding room types that I've stayed at on the Strip (aside from Trump) in the last decade.
- It is small and non-gaming....meaning small and very minimal drunkard crowds-noise.
- No smoke, so if you've smoked six cigarettes your entire life and don't care for the way it decays everything like myself....terrific.
- Really is center strip. Easy access to everything Cosmo/Bellagio North and then Aria/Monte Carlo South. At the end of the day, having a casino in the lobby is overrated and completely unimportant (in Vdara's case, there are three casinos within an easy three-five minute walk). If you can't walk five minutes to a casino, you should blackout in your room.
- This is the only resort I know of that allows people to actually check into a room when it's ready (could be 10 AM). As a Platinum MLIFE member, The Mirage and Mandalay Bay (MLIFE properties) have never let me check in prior to 3 PM....and I'm kind in saying those properties don't even let me check in at 3 80% of the time.
- You don't have a kitchen with a full fridge, freezer, ice maker, stove, or microwave over at Caesars.
- It smells great.
- I can't comment on the pool. I don't really understand why people want to hang out in 100 degrees by a bunch of slobs....but there is a decent pool at Vdara.

Go Vdara. Great property.
