Equal time. I'm a die hard Flyers fan so I would go for the Hawks to see Kimmo Timonen get a chance to carry the Cup. However, there is a question of he must play in at least one game of the Finals to qualify for getting his name on the Cup. Quenville's quandary (heh, heh) is who does he sit? Stay tuned. On the other hand, Braydon Coburn, who at one time was the longest tenured athlete in all Philly sports teams, is with Tampa Bay and doing a really decent job. Timonen and Coburn were defensive partners on the Flyers for several years. So, in either case, there will be tears and hugs in the handshake line.
It's gotta be Tampa. It seems like destiny. They eliminated Boston on the last day of the season from the playoffs. They eliminated the Red Wings, Canadians and Rangers from the playoffs in the first 3 rounds. It's only fitting they beat the Hawks and eliminate 5 of 6 original NHL teams. As with sports countless times, usually the most dramatic, least likely event will happen. As an Islander fan my loyalty is with Tampa for beating the Rags. Tampa in 5 or 7 but it will be at home.
Pulling for the Hawks but it doesn't bode well if Timonen is in the lineup - lately he's looked old and slow. I hope coach Q knows what he's doing with this move. Go Hawks!
