Video Poker Need Some Help Identifing A VP Game From Someone TR

Been reading a lot of people's TR going back a few months. In one of them, the person is showing many pictures of a VP machine when he is trying to draw to a four of a kind. I would post a picture or reference the TR but I can't seem to find it again. I read a lot of them yesterday.

It was a three line game where each line had the same cards. But what made it unique was that on the left side of each line, it had a multiplier bonus list (3x,5x, 12x etc). Also, it listed what the next bonus would be for the next hand. Each line had it own bonus amount. The bonus amounts seemed random but that might just be because the pictures where only taken when he was drawing to a four of a kind.

Can anyone help me identify the particular VP machine he was on? I am not a big VP fan but I think I would enjoy this one.

No, it was only three lines, one on top of each other and each line had its own multiplier next to it on the left. One line would say 3x the one below it would have something else etc.


Dang, gonna have to go sift through all the TR again.

It is UltimateX.
You pay 2x, for a chance at multipliers based on winning hands.
Although, when you don't have a multiplier, you're basically paying 10 credits, and only getting paid based on 5 credits.

 

Yep yep! Ultimate X. I found some better pictures and was able to read the name on the screen. I guess you can play more than just 3 hands at a time.

So, now that that problem is solved, is this game worth playing or would it be simplier to just give a pit boss half my bankroll?

Multipliers are NOT random in this game. The multiplier awarded on each line is based on the hand value made on the previous hand. Each line costs 10 credits.

For example on 3 line Double Double Bonus multipliers look like this:
Non Paying hand: No multiplier
Jacks or Better: 2X
Two Pair: 3X
Three of a Kind: 4X
Straight: 8X
Flush: 10X
Full House: 12X
Quads or higher: 2X

The fact that multipliers are awarded based on the hand you make, it also influences correct strategy. Mostly that straight and flush draws are more powerful than in standard VP.

The strategy for 7/5 or 8/5 DDB Ultimate X can be found here. 9/5 DDB is also the same except holding Aces Full is correct. The 9/6 strategy changes and is at the wizardofodds site, but unless you're gonna play at South Point or a couple of other places, you won't find it.

I'll warn you now, this game is swingy and addictive as crack. This game and Super Times Pay are probably the two most popular "gimmick games" in the past decade.

 

I don't play vp that much but I have to agree this game is like crack. Once you start playing you won't want to stop.

 

I love Ultimate X. The only problem is... I love Ultimate X. As others have said here, it is addictive and at 7.50 a pull on a .25 machine, you can go through hundreds in minutes but every once in a while...

 

Yup. I just hit 3K at my local last night. I was dealt a straight and it had 4 to the royal. Went for the royal, got it on the hand with the 3x multiplier. I play it in quarters.

 

The Orleans have 3 or 4 of these Ultimate machines. I played them a bit this past week, wasn't overly impressed (freely tramslated that means I didn't win).
I much prefer the 3-Way Action machines--had more fun and came out better on them. Gold Coast has a ton of these (OK at least 40) and yes they are addictive.

aa0154--I hope you don't get misled by my comment just prior to your latest. When I was referring to over 40 machines at the Gold Coast I was identifying the Three-Way Action ones not the Ultimate ones. I don't remember seeing any Ultimates at the GC, although I was not looking for them either.
And from my experiences, the Three Way Action at both casinos were more enjoyable, and gave me a better bang for my buck than the Ultimates I played at the Orleans.
