Giving CET some actual play this weekend. I will be checking in later on Friday evening so was planning on giving Cosmo/Mlife some play that night so I don't trigger a gambling day at CET. Then I started thinking, just checking into the room will trigger activity correct?

Yep, they know your there. Using your total rewards card at all will also trigger a gaming day.

If you stay 3 nights on a comp, it will be 4 gaming days......even if you don't play on check out day, or swipe your card.

Wait so you're saying that the day you check out factors into your ADT, regardless of using/swiping your card?

I specifically asked my host that question last week. He told me that check out day counts as a gaming day. I had 5 comp nights. I was flying out on a red eye on night 5, but I always have a room for the night I fly out. I wouldn't have any play on day 6 or use any kind if restaurant comp, but since I had a room on my fifth night, I would have 6 gaming days. I've also seen where I stayed 5 nights and my host was off on day 6 (my departure day). My host cleared my bill on day 7 when he came into work. Since I received comps on day 7, CET pegged my trip as 7 days.

Well that sucks... We are checking out at 5am on day 5 (4 night stay).

So even if you check out before their 'day' begins? I forget if it is 5am-5am or 6am-6am.

Sorry zephyrm, not meaning to hijack your thread.

Oh no problem with the additional questions. That's something nice to know. Sucks for people checking out and taking an early morning flight to have that check out date count as another day even if checking out at 6am.

I asked Hunter this in the forum and he confirmed it. I never knew this and ALWAYS avoiding using my card on last day, but that will change from now on

Yes, it is possible, but very, very tricky to have your departure day not count as a gaming day at CET. There is almost no point trying, none at all if you depart In a limo like me. It is very funny to watch all the threads about not putting a $20 through a machine on your last day when you are doing a million other things which count as a gaming day already.

Ok, so what about those who don't depart in a limo like you? What are the parameters required to not have your departure day factor into your ADT? Is it worth trying to accomplish this? Otherwise, a little play with your card would obviously be better than a little play without your card....

If you're there on a comp room, I don't think there is any way around having your departure day count as a gaming day.

Whoa, I never knew this either and have always avoided playing, dining or even swiping my card. On the other hand, this have never had any negative affect on my offers.

My comments were specific to CET. I don't know what mlife, Cosmo, Wynn or V/P do.

There was the thought that if you went to the host the night BEFORE you checked out and settled your room up then (aka got your stuff comp'd before your actual last day) then your last day wouldn't count as a gaming day. HOWEVER, I believe that has been disproven.

With that said, Hunter straight up said he's never seen someone's offers get lowered because of one smaller day and that everything basically evens out in the end. I, for one, will be using my card and treating my last day like any other from now on, especially because I usually take the redeye

Hunter lied. Think about it, how can you ever even out in the end unless you gamble and they don't count it as a gaming day. Every gaming day is used as the divisor in your ADT, so every day lowers your ADT unless you gamble more than your previous average.

But it's not 1 smaller day. It's an extra gaming day EVERY trip.

Years ago, you could take care of charges the night before and checkout day wouldn't count as a gaming day. Heck, years ago, you could gamble just one day on a 3 night trip and your average would be JUST the gaming day (as long as you didn't use your card or access your comp account in any way)!

Sadly, the casinos are finding more and more and more ways to charge us more. Adding checkout day is just another way to reduce our daily value, hence another way to justify giving us lower offers and fewer comps. On top of that, they reduce pay tables which costs us even more.

I used to get my theo info after every day I played back in 2008 at Silverton and Excalibur. Silverton averaged 4% of your coin in as theo, Excalibur averaged 5%! Now, when I get theo info from places I play it averages 2% of coin in. Just another way to give us less.

At this rate, it won't be long until it's just not worth going to Las Vegas anymore.

Just as an aside - Hunter mentioned that even having a new TR card printed triggers a visit
