    Hi,

Was playing at Cesars' the other day and was just getting destroyed on the craps table. Walked over to Bellagio, and got destroyed there too : )

Besides the point, but I got a MLife Card in the process. Was wondering if you guys knew of any tips, promotions, or ways to quickly ascend up the ranks? I was able to get half way to Pearl, but was wondering if there was any promotion like CET?

Not that I am aware of. But then again, I don't pay much attention to promos to earn tier credits. You do get some credit for purchases, so make sure and use your card when buying anything at an Mlife property. And I know the higher levels earn TC at an accelerated rate, but you have to get there first. Good luck

If you're staying at an M-Life property, charge everything to the room. If not, book a night at one for a decent rate and do the same. Bet at least $25 at tables, and hang in for as long as you can. I fell just short of leveling up in one trip due to those things. One more day of focused activity and I would've made it, but I was more concerned with checking out new (to me) properties.

The Hyatt suggestion is a good one. If you get a mLife card, get a Hyatt Gold Passport card too, the frequent hotel program. Link both. If you stay at Hyatt properties on vacation you'll earn mLife points and vice versa. Each year I reach Hyatt Diamond via mLife and never stay a paid night there but I do use free nights each year.

At the MGM properties even when you buy a coffee show them your card. Each level gets you a discount. I'm a Platinum and I get 15% off lots of retail. A morning WSJ is $2.55, not $3.00 (whoop-de-doo, Marriott gives me one for free...). Not all retail is discounted though.

You get points for paid hotel nights, meals and bar. They go on your account immediately as tier credits which count as your status. Last week I generated about 250K tier credits in 5 days with 3 days comped, 2 paid, lots of meals. I stopped at the Aria Host office before checkout to have them review my play. Once done my hotel bill was minus $139 and change (due to my deposit), my tier credits unchanged, my express comps unchanged. They comped off about $1000. I just had to pay cash tips at the restaurants.

Fastest way to get points are slots, not the specialty ones and not video poker. One downside is you have to pound lots of $$$ through to get something decent at their Christmas deal. CET and V/P had better year end stuff when I played there but I'm overall happier playing at the MGM joints.

    Best of luck!

    The most obvious way.

AND - keep in mind that offers are based on ADT, not on tier.

As to any bonus to move up the tier ladder like CET does, Mlife does not have one. Even days with extra tier credit are rare compared to CET.

the most recent offer I got included 10,000 tier credits on top of the room & free play. First time I've seen that and not sure why.

Last September I got a mailer saying that tier points were doubled to entice me to come in and renew my status. I was Gold until September 2014 when I let it lapse and now back to sapphire. I've all but neglected mgm properties for over the past year.

Just a heads up there are much fewer benefits of being in a higher tier at Mlife than CET's diamond. I am Mlife Platinum and the only real benefit I notice from the other tiers is the ability to cut the taxi line.

Woah... so you get Hyatt points and Mlife points while at MGM properties? I definitely didn't know that.

Will definitely start doing that then.

I could be wrong but I think it applies to paid nights only.If you are comped I don't think it works.

Exactly. Although there are a few minor benefits for the Gold and Pearl. Pearl you get to skip the lines at any MGM buffet which is handy at times. There are some unadvertised perks with Gold too. With MLife Gold, you and one guest can get into Morea Beach (topless pool) at Mandalay Bay for free ($50 ea. for guys so that's $100 value). Gold also has its own check-in line/area which can save some time too. Nothing great, but I have noticed a few perks.

Can I ask how much approximately you brought to gamble? I'm going this weekend for a bachelor party and I've got three rooms booked at the Monte Carlo (so cheaper rooms) for eight people. Everything's likely getting charged to "my" rooms, and myself and one other guy are bringing about 15k to gamble over the four days. FWIW I'm a gold now due to Hyatt status.

See my thread about mLife Platinum benefits vs. CET Diamond.

"Dailun's subjective comparison of mLife Platinum vs. CET Diamond"

It really depends on where you like to gamble and what sort of benefits "excite" you.

There are times when this benefit is invaluable!
Sat. night came out of the Eagles concert at MGM and the taxi line was all the way back into the slot area in the casino.I heard the doormen discussing whether it would be $50 or $100 to jump the line which was going to be way over an hour.
I walked to the front and flashed my Platinum card.I was in a cab in 2 min.

    I only have 2 suggestions :

    1. Charge everything to your room like others have mentioned, at 25 points/dollar, it builds up pretty fast, especially if you are a foodie or club-goer. A friend of mine hosted a company dinner which he charged $5000 to his room, 2 days after check out his account was showing Gold Status.

    2. Traditional 3-Wheel slot machines, preferably at $1 denomination or higher. These pile up points the fastest than video type slots and statistically has better payback rate.

But again I agree with the rest that MLife perks after Gold level are most meaningless to the average gambler, I personally didn't even bother chasing for the next level....

The freebies at Mandalay Bay, Mirage, and Bellagio aren't so bad if you have guests.

However, Unless you really, really like playing at mLife casinos, going for Platinum doesn't really make much sense.

I have almost made up my mind to abandon mLife and move to CET.

Totally agree with you and don't blame you for switching. For me though, there is only one problem, I just don't like any of the CET properties except for maybe Cromwell. So I guess I am stuck with Mlife for now. Really want to give VP and Wynn a go but I seriously doubt they would care about my micro rolling.
