As I edge closer to 10 years of LV trips it becomes more and more apparent how my tastes have changed. Last month I booked a Labor Day Weekend Trip, this will be my fourth time visiting on LDW. I initially booked Flamingo with memories of the pool scene and how much fun and exciting the go pool can be. As the days have gone by I started thinking about how crowded it gets, how the Flamingo elevators can be annoying, the lines into the pool, etc, etc. Long story short I switched to Bally's. Bally's has def become my home base I am super comfortable there, know the bartenders, love the easy layout and the new Jubilee rooms are really comfortable.

It is just so funny how your tastes and preferences change as you mature through this journey of life. Whoodda thunkk itt??

Ballys is a fav of ours--stayed there more than any other resort. Huge rooms, great central location, typically comped.
BE SURE to ask for a north facing Jubilee room. We had a south facing one last year & the noise from Chateau was intolerable. Stayed north facing the trip prior, and while we could hear Drais a bit, earplugs took care of it.
But Caesars is tossing comped rooms our way more & more often. It is huge but the rooms are always nice & QUIET...so if offered, I'm gonna take CP over Ballys!

I have heard a lot of folks talking about the noise, I stayed last Jan and was south facing and I def did hear Chateau one of the nights. You are very close to the club and can almost feel the thump, thump! I tried Caesars on a COMP offer, even got an upgrade to the Augustus tower, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Too big for me and too far from the strip. I am so glad I stayed once though, I also want to stay at Bellagio at least once just to say I have laid my head down at two of the LV icons.

And, THIS is why there are so many different types of hotels and casinos up and down the strip. Different strokes for different folks. Heck, there are even folks that like to stay at Circus Circus.

nostresshere doesn't need me to defend him, but I agree that there have been posters who claim they like CC.

Indeed they do, Ron. We started in Laughlin, playing mostly slots.

Amen. There was a time a quarter century ago when I will have been all over the wild pool/club scene. Now I have less than zero interest.

Good to see you Ron! I'm with you on how tastes change. I started off at the Flamingo years ago when I was fresh out of college. Thought we were hot shit when we moved up to Monte Carlo and then to NYNY once a few people dropped from the annual trip. But now that it's usually just the GF and I we are riding the Cosmo gravy train for now.

I stick with the original Caesars gaming pit and leave right out the side of Flamingo Ave for easy strip access when staying in the Augustus tower. I have no idea how to get out of their mall going north from the casino, and once was in some weird employee tunnel for a while before finally escaping.

I've stayed at Bally's three times, twice in the Indigo Suite rooms (put in when other rooms were taken, the second time after a request to shift from Jubilee on fly in night because of the noise). These rooms have a hot tub and are very nice. Jubilee rooms were nice as well, except for the noise aspect. I usually stay out beyond 4AM, so it's not a factor, but was tired after a long flight in (and long day of work before hand) and was happy with the free upgrade. Ballys has a great BJ game if you play green chip in the high limit room.

Bally's/MGM is where i have slept the most times over the years........including next week.
I may be one of the few people in here who has stayed at the Marina Hotel, stayed at MGM in the Marina wing of MGM, stayed at MGM outside the Marina wing, stayed at MGM before they became Bally's, and then Bally's.
    I guess i have a connection to Bally's/MGM...........LOL.

I am glad I am not the only one that has an issue with getting from the mall to the casino. Usually each trip I go into the mall to check out the amazing watch shop and usually I just walk out to the street and don't even attempt accessing the casino. The last trip I tried and failed miserably, walked in circles along with others that were trying the same thing.
