My GF is a fan of GR...I would like to surprise her in August when we are there..seen very mixed reviews.. for us a splurge would be $150..... is it worth it?.. I'd go more to surprise her..

Does it really matter if its worth it...the GF is a fan dude...can you afford NOT to go, lol ;)

In all seriousness, we have been there 3 times, and feel as though it is worth the cash, are better places? Absolutely....Will you spend more $$, Absolutely. I would recommend the Mac and Cheese as a side and of course the sticky toffee pudding for dessert!

I like BURGR, I don't like his steak house.

My advice, go to Burgr and you'll be under $100 even with apps, burgers and drinks. With the remaining $50+ go to the bar at GR Steak and have a drink and get the sticky toffee pudding. You didn't go over your budget and your GF got to experience two of his restaurants.

I went to his Pub at Caesars. It was mediocre. His sticky toffee pudding is just average compared to what I had in England. I was in Yorkshire and had sticky toffee pudding at 3 different places. Came back home and went to Vegas to his Pub and ordered the sticky toffee pudding. All 3 places in England had better pudding and they were just average restaurants.

I would highly recommend Burgr. My wife and I tried it last year and loved it. Great burger, we loved the fries and the four dipping sauces that came with it.

I'm a fan too, his pub at Caesars wasn't very good. I expected it to be overpriced but I also expected good food. DIsappointing. Both Burgr and Steak I did enjoy. Is she a fan of him from Hell's Kitchen or MasterChef or something else. They have a Hell's Kitchen tasting menu at Steak but it's expensive (you order it for the table and it's $145 each, without wine, $220 each with wine pairings). I didn't have the HK menu, I had a regular steak. Very good. The place is loud and bustling which some don't like. You can't go wrong with Burgr though and it's easier on the wallet. As for the sticky toffee putting I'd venture that most of us have not had it in England so while it may be better over there I thought it was pretty damn good and not something you can normally get around here.

Food was good but everything else didn't work at all inc the snoody waiter. Just ate at Homestead and we thought the food was just as good.

    Which GR?
Burgr (at PH) is very good and usually our first meal when we get to Vegas.
Steak (at Paris) tried it this past trip.
Before going i inquired about what to order. You can review it here.
All I can say is "Get the Ribcap!!!" "Get the Ribcap!!!" "Get the Ribcap!!!""Get the Ribcap!!!"
The meal was about $130 or so and well worth it.

I'm in a similar situation. I'll have to disagree. Burgr was underwhelming, and the atmosphere is closer to a nice diner than something special.

If she's a big fan you'll get much more bang for the buck at his steak house. It will make for a nice evening, and impress her a heck of a lot more. You can only do the first surprise once, so do it right. You can always do burgr another time.

There are many good reviews and tips for Steak on the forum.

    Good luck.
