Headed to Vegas on Friday for a quick two nighter. I'll be leaving Las Vegas early Sunday morning and heading straight to Mexico for some R&R. My cousin is still on the fence about joining me so i might be going solo.

Let's say I do really well and have more than 10k in cash when I go to leave. Leaving the country with more than 10k (cash/checks etc) requires a declaration saying you are doing so. I think I would also need to declare something in Mexico as well as on the way back. It would be easy to prove where the money came from if I win at slots. Probably a bit harder if I win at tables. I obviously want to avoid this all together.

The obvious option would be to visit a Bank of America and do an ATM deposit or potentially see a teller if I win big on Friday and the bank is open on Saturdays.

I'm thinking I could also just not declare it and likely not have any problems (hate to even go to Mexico with more that $500 in cash).

Any other ideas on what I could do to remedy the situation?

If my cousin comes then I will just send the cash with him.

Bank of America ATMs can take up to 40 bills at a time now, I'd just do that I'd think. I would try to avoid taking a big wad of cash to Mexico if possible.

Good idea. Thanks. I've never seen them hand a check over to someone so I wasn't sure if this was possible. Obviously they want to give you cash so you go and play it.

you will not have this problem.

however, just for sake of clarity:

just take all the chips to the cage at the end of your trip and ask them to put it on deposit and wire it to your bank account.

    done.

but you have to make sure not to cash out any chips during your trip.

they will not convert cash to check/wire, only chips.

of course this assumes you win all at one casino.

if not, and you have several places with winnings, you will be SOL.

another option would be to purchase money orders and mail them to your home.

Or you could fly me to Vegas, put me in a room, put it in the safe with your own code and pick it back up when you return.... :poke:

Yeah I would get a check for any hand pays...

    Cash !

    IP King

    Great Idea also by Shifter!

There are B.O.A's all over Las Vegas, very easy to make a deposit or get cash out.

I would be very careful, toting 10k across the International Borders, especially form Mexico,
easiest thing Line of credit, or wire front money to your Fav casino's.

All they have to do now to seize your $$$ while crossing the border is suspect
it's from a nefarious source, No proof, No Evidence & now you have to
prove a negative, that your money did not come from Drug proceeds.

it is 40 bills per deposit transaction at the ATM, but I'm sure you can do more than one transaction, hopefully you will need to....

    Haha.

Thanks for all the ideas. More than likely will just take a cab sunday morning and have them stop at a BOA before the airport. Even if I have less than 10k I'll probably do this.

I typically have a "possible cash problem" on about every 2nd or 3rd day in Vegas.

That's usually the problem I have as well. I hope it's a good problem this trip!
