. . . if there is some obscure database of player information that Hosts and Marketing Execs can tap into for players, no matter what corporation (MGM, CET, Boyd, Station, etc.). I’m not talking whales, just everyday players – high, mid, low.

Reason I am wondering is that you see threads posted from time to time where people write “I don’t know how I got this offer, I never played there” or “I received an email from a host at XX property, never been there, wonder how they got my information”.

And also, how common is it for hosts and Marketing Execs to ferret away players from one corporation to theirs?

your CC company is selling your info about trips that the casinos buy in a database, simple as that
I've never played, stayed or even set foot in the Wynn, yet I get offers 3 times a year

Casinos also get info from GCA; about who does a "POS Debit" or "Credit Card Advance" in a casino (True degen move!)

Facebook searches everything you post there for keywords, collects info about your activities, preferences, etc. Sells your data to companies and political parties. They're probably the worst.

Other companies mine the Internet for your activities and sell that data, correct or incorrect, to anyone willing to pay for it.

No one bothers to read the pages and pages and pages of really fine print of legalese when you install software, get a new credit card, sign up on a website... Even if you did, unless you teach Business Law you probably wouldn't understand it anyway.

Maybe those "off the grid" folks have something....

I know a few hosts / marketing people through the GF and while I have no idea if they have a database as such they definitely all talk about the bigger players.

EDIT: I should point out that with me at least they never mention specifics. It's a very discreet business from what I can see.

Hosts can find out a player's historical play, but I am not sure if from a database or through contacts. My friend introduced me to his MB host last year and that host was able to get information about my play at my local casinos (Pechanga, Pala, Rincon), to come up with an upfront comp offer.
