Old Homestead seems to be getting reviews that are a tad better. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have never been to Homestead, but craftsteak is awesome.

Since I don't like CET, I would go with craftsteak. Now I think about it, I have never ate at a CET property. I have always wanted to play bacc at CP with the big screens, but never dared.

Maybe someone can inform us about homestead.

If you are at the Palazzo (as shown on your countdown), cut and carnivore are good places to get steak.

    Word. Same here.

Plus, I've been disappointed with both CP restaurants I've tried in the past few years (Mesa Grill and the single worst Vegas restaurant experience I've had: Gordon Ramsay Pub).

I've had dinner at both restaurants. I was at Craftsteak with a group if 8. At the server's suggestion, we ordered multiple dishes and shared. None of us was happy with the dinner. On the other hand, I've been to Old Homestead a number of times and always enjoyed the dinner. My favourite there would be the bone on filet.
Another favourite of mine would be SW.

Newmans, that is great to hear. I booked Old Homestead for 7 weeks from tomorrow dining solo. I'll be staying at Caesars and was going to use one of my $100 Seven Star dining certificates and charge any balance to the room. I'll be dining with DBueler at SW a few days later while staying at Encore again, my now favorite hotel is Vegas. I ate solo at SW in April and really enjoyed it. The one bad thing is that I didn't go to dinner hungry enough and just couldn't eat a lot of my meal, but what I had was great!

Try to save room for dessert. I was at NOBU for dinner one night(loved the dinner), but my friends had dinner at Old Homestead the night before and wanted to do a repeat of their dessert. We loved the key lime pie and chocolate chip cookie(in a cast iron pan) a la mode.

    Enjoy!

Gordan Ramsay Pub is not good. I was at Gordan's Pub a few days after getting back from the UK and the food in just random restaurants throughout Yorkshire and Southampton were a lot better than his Pub.

I have to agree with you on Gordon Ramsay's Pub. I had made a reservation for 7 people, for a pre Elton John dinner. We were seated in the bar area at a high table with the most uncomfortable chairs. The poor food did not add to our dining experience. I wouldn't go back.

Suggestions for Old Homestead: Get the bone-in rather than the non-bone-in cuts. I was not satisfied with my ribeye a few weeks ago and it may be that it was not their best offering, quality-wise. My wife's filet was not up to our expectations either, and it was not bone-in. As far as sides, I've read about the brussel sprouts in other reviews and agree that they are far from mouth-watering. I really enjoyed the buttermilk onion rings and the sauces that are offerred for the steaks. Service was very good but this is a noisy dining room, especially if you're seated near the casino walkway. As a solo customer, I doubt that they would seat you there anyway. I might suggest that I used my Diamond annual dinner certificate at Ruth's Chris at Harrah's a couple of trips ago and was happy with the entire experience. Old Homestead....not my favorite of the CET steakhouses. I fyou do go to OH, however, ask for Bradley. He's excellent!

Ruth's Chris is very good, but I know it's a chain.

Old Homestead is (supposedly) based on a long-standing old-school steak house in Manhattan, but the one at Caesars did not look at all old-school from looking at it from the passageway. I have not eaten there yet. The comment I remember most is that somebody reported that the background music was close to club volume and they would not turn it down. I listened for this when I walked by it but did not hear any loud music.

Now there's some new steak or other high-end place in the Flamingo which has very loud music appearing to emanate from it. Great for a dance bar but not for a relaxing dinner!

Thanks for the tips re OH. I know RC is a chain as well but DBueler and I LOVE that place and dine there almost every trip. I used my $500 annual celebration certificate and had my 50th Birthday dinner there last August with dear friends including DBueler and big brother Champster1. I've had some of the best service there; the entire staff is always warm and inviting. The food is very good IMO and the view of course, if you are sitting by the window, is great. DBueler and I will have will having dinner there on July 4th while the fireworks are going off!

I've eaten at Craftsteak 4 times, never had a bad experience and the food has always been exceptional as well as the service.

They have a dessert - cinnamon monkey bread something or another - that is life changing.

Crafsteak has always been very good.Been there with groups of 2-10 people and the service was always good.

Been to Old Homestead at Borgata in AC.Huge portions and also good service.
Made the mistake of ordering appetizer, salad and entrée first time there.Could not eat half the steak.

Old Homestead is by far the best steak experience I've ever had in Vegas and it's not even close. Beat Mario's place at the Palazzo to bits. That was the worse by far.

Well I chose Craftsteak and I'm sorry I did. The steak was fair, and I thought the potatoes tasted funny. :(

Have dined at Old Homestead both in NYC and in AC and have never had a bad experience...... Bone in Rib Eye is what I normally order ..... With the mashed taters and creamed spinach....... Shrimp cocktail for an app and all is good

Well, the verdict is in. Craftsteak was my choice, and I definitely regretted it. The steak was fair, and I thought the potato puree actually tasted funny. Won't go back. :(

I thought Delmonicos was closing? If not, I'll give it a whirl for sure. CUT was pretty awesome.
