Last time I was in LV, hard cider was very difficult to find at bars and impossible to get at the tables. Has anyone had an improved experience with the availability of this refreshing beverage? I'm particularly interested in downtown properties and off-strip places such as South Point and Orleans. Thanks!
I'm curious about this as well. Cider seems to growing in popularity very quickly around here. Cider billboards are all over town and even a cider house with 28+ on tap opened this year.
I would imagine if you could get it, it would be either Angry Orchard or Redd's; I could have sworn there was a discussion here not to long ago that said MGM had A.O. but not confident; I do know that TAG @ LINQ will have a choice; but floor comps not sure.
Angry Orchard or Crispin are easy to find in most bars. On strip you'll likely get Magners and possibly Magners pear as well. Redds is an apple flavoured beer if memory serves me right. It tastes pretty good but that's worth mentioning as I drink cider because beer upsets my IBS.
Yes, it's classified as a fruit beer. Honestly - I love cider and I love beer, but do NOT like Redds. (and there are plenty of fruit beers I do like) But you have to taste everything to decide what you like, right?
I agree that hard cider is showing up more in Las Vegas bars. I think most bars have it now. The bars I frequent seem to carry a lot of Angry Orchard. Bill
I was able to order them playing slots at both Orleans and the Palms. One had Johnny Appleseed and the other was Angry Orchard, IIRC. The problem was I asked for hard cider and the CWs weren't sure what that was but at least both went to the bar to check and came back with something good. I think eventually we will see most casinos making a decent selection of brands available but we need to ask more and they need to do a better job of making sure they let people know they've got them.
