    Hi all,

I'm working freelance during the WSOP and will be paid by check whilst out there. Does anyone know where I can cash these checks, preferably without fees? I'll be a casino employee if that helps.

    Cheers!
    A.

The casino cage would be the easiest. Or does your bank have branches in Vegas?

Stations casino is probably the easiest. But I dont know if they will cash your check same day without verifying it first. After the first cash out, the next takes only minutes to do. Most, if not all, local casinos will do it.

Do they charge fees? I heard the Gold Coast cash casino employee checks without charging fees...is this true?

Stations casinos do not charge fees. You do need to have a players card though.

Most casinos use a service that verifies checks and has a check limit. This limit is based upon your check use and not your balance so you should call ahead and verify your limit.

Most casinos cash paychecks for their employees... they hope some or all of it gets spent there. I'm not sure how that helps you? Are the checks you're going to be cashing from here or the UK? Find out what bank or institution the company issuing the check uses and cash them there.

The OP says he will be a casino employee, he should be able to just go the cage of the casino he works for.

    Awesome, cheers.

Checks will be from the issuing casino (a CET casino) as I'm a contractor brought in for the WSOP.

I cannot imagine that the issuing casino wouldn't cash your check (Rio I assume).

You could always open a Citibank account in London and use the branches in Vegas. It's very handy to have a dollar account here in the UK with a dollar credit and debit card, even a cheque book. Plus they have a freephone telephone number, unlike the UK banks, lol.

You have to open it in a personal name but you can have payments made in to it in a company name as long as you are a Director of the company with a letter with confirmation of allowing it. Complicated but can be done with the correct wording.

Correct. I'll go to the Rio or the Gold Coast I imagine!

I might just look into this, thanks!

ETA: Actually, I can't. I need to have a Citigold Current Account to open one at the moment, sigh.

Mine is just Citibank US Dollar Current Account. Can't you open one of those. Mine has been done about 10 years, maybe they have changed it but I had no problem.

Can't blame them I suppose. There's no other bank in the UK that you can pay dollar cheques into that are made out to a US LLC.
