Going to try it again this year as the wife and I had so much fun last year. However, seeing that we are now "experienced", we are a bit more specific on what we want to do/stay. Last year we stayed at the Mirage, which was really nice, and being a "host" hotel, provided a shuttle to the race start line. However, post race, it was a nightmare trying to go from chute exit back to the Mirage.

Now, to this year....we've been checking out prices (too early for either MLife or CET offers) and they are very expensive. I can barely beat the lodging rates on the marathon website.

Has anyone else booked or run into this problem? Optimally, we think staying south of Bellagio would be best.

    Thanks for any input!

Our strategy has been to stay at a hotel close to the Finish Line, on the same side of LV Blvd if possible. We know getting through and out of the finish line chute is always a trek. We didn't run the race last year, where was the Finish Line chute?

    Good luck in the race!

Thanks Kelly! The chute let out in front of the Bellagio....in a perfect world, we could stay at Cosmo, but $$$$ may be prohibitive. I need to rack up some Marriott points!

I was staying at PHO last November and knew about it beforehand. I didn't go to Vegas to watch Rock & Roll, but i watched the proceedings out in front of PHO for a couple of hours. Everyone seemed to have a great time and met a few people including the husband of one of the participants running. It was a great couple of hours getting away from the casino and for a worthy cause. A band was playing in the medium in front of Bellagio and that's where the "finish line" was.
I took many great pics, i thought, but the pics didn't come out because of my crappy camera:

I am also going again in November this year (Flamingo), but i'll miss it by a day (Nov. 16-22).
I usually stay in Vegas the week before Thanksgiving Sun-Fri comped, but this year i have 6 nights comped but you can't book 6 consecutive nights comped, so i decided to book Mon-Fri comped and Saturday for 12 bucks. Not bad.

I really enjoyed it and would have been happy to get a front row seat this year, but it is what it is.
Hopefully the Rock & Roll Marathon 2015 has an even bigger and better year.

Thanks, Waverunner! I'd hope to get two nights comped, like my trip last month. That would help out a lot, but I'm afraid to wait too long. I'll probably book somewhere to "have a room," and see what offers come in. Too bad you can't make it in a day earlier!
