I don’t know if anyone has posted in this detail as of yet so my apologies if I am repeating information. Just rode the shuttle going from Orleans to Gold Coast with a stop at Caesars. This was Friday (5/1) at about 4:30-5:00pm. I am not sure if anyone cares how this goes, but I thought the route to Caesars was interesting. I fully expected to get to Caesars by way of LV Blvd. Here is the route they take:

The shuttle takes a right out of the Orleans on to Cameron to Flamingo. Right onto Flamingo and then left onto Valley View. Valley View to right onto Twain. Under I-15 and right onto Frank Sinatra Dr. Left onto Jay Sarno Way to a left into the parking lot where it looks like the valets park cars. The shuttle then drives to an out of the way spot where the Planet Hollywood globe is. You wait for a few minutes and then reverse the driving order. Turn right onto Jay Sarno Way and then right onto Frank Sinatra Dr. You actually go to Industrial, left onto Industrial, under I-15 and then right onto Twain. The shuttle turns left onto Valley View and then right onto Flamingo. Stops at the same place in front of Gold Coast, wait a few minutes and then off to Orleans. The shuttle then goes left onto Wynn Rd and right onto Flamingo. Turns left onto Arville and then right into Orleans.

If you get off at Caesar's, some detailed logistics would be helpful. Folks have complained that it is confusing. A good plan ought to make it easier. I'd like to know how to get outside quickly, even if that is on Flamingo.

Dewey, I am not familiar enough with Caesars to give any more detail. We did not get off at Caesars because we were actually going from Orleans to GC. I get why people are confused. The best suggestion I have is to do Google maps and find the PH globe I mentioned so you can get an idea of where the shuttle stops. Any one hear give a better explanation? A picture probably would have helped.

This is how we found the bus stop on our last trip (4/22) To find it from outside: To find the shuttle from the strip, follow the walk on the south side of the Forum shops to the Planet Hollywood globe, following the perimeter of the coliseum . Go in the door marked casino and take a right into the Forum shops and catch the escalator down. Go out the valet doors and wait near the benches in the middle of the area. The bus picks up just to the right of these benches.
I would assume that from the inside if you find your way to the Forum Shops and catch the escalator down you may find yourself in the same area...?

Thanks for the information. We will use this shuttle for our upcoming trip and I was wondering if luggage is welcome on this particular shuttle?

We had our luggage, it was only a backback and a carry-on, driver never said a word. On the shuttle from Harrah's to Rio, the sign there says "no luggage'

I got on the shuttle last week at Orleans with one small piece of luggage, and driver gave me a hard time about no luggage and I replied that the shuttle is part of the resort fee and I just kept walking to my seat. all he did was piss me off and screw up his tip.

Sorry to hear that. I've probably ridden the Orleans shuttle over 100 times, often with luggage, and never heard a word about it and intend to do the same this trip. If hassled, maybe I'll just ask if he works for tips.

I had an older driver last time. When we got to putting my large luggage into the back of the bus, I went to lift it and he insisted that he could lift it easily and so he did very graciously and then I think he said he was in his late seventies but still spry and strong. So, if there is a rule on no luggage, it must be a new one. Or perhaps the luggage needs to be loaded into the back of the bus. See if you can find out Turtleman and let us know if this was policy or just a surly driver.

Will do Dewey. Actually, I've never seen luggage loaded into the back of the Orleans shuttles - never. Didn't even know they could accommodate luggage there. We plan on using backpacks, which can easily be held on our laps for the short duration trip. In any case, thanks to the previous post, I'll be prepared to "fight back" if necessary and will report back here.

I'm quite interested in this discussion because we will be using the shuttle on our next trip to the Orleans starting May 27. Doesn't look like it will be as user-friendly in the Caesar's area as the one that went to Bally's, and boy do I miss the one that used to stop at Bill's. It was really great.
An observation that I have made on our last two trips is that less than half of the passengers taking this shuttle ever leave a tip for the driver, either getting on or getting off. I have noted when the subject comes up on this board, almost without exception, members encourage the leaving of at least 1$ per person for the driver. I always do, and believe it is an appropriate amount for the service provided, and to leave no tip is just not right.
I was frankly surprised to make the discovery of this very low tipping percentage, and wonder just what goes through the minds of those taking the shuttle who make the conscious decision to skip tipping here, when they will tip taxi drivers, restaurant help, and room cleaning employees, among others, while in Las Vegas.

Wow, sorry to hear that. We rode the shuttle from Gold Coast to Orleans with luggage, 2 carry-ons that took up one seat. The driver never said a thing. The bus wasn't full though.

And that might be the difference as well. I had heard that on full buses the driver might ask for folks to wait for the next one. However, that does not explain the opportunity of storing luggage in the back. I travel with the largest suitcase possible and my carry ons all fit in it once I arrive at at McCarran and don't have to limit to 50 pounds. It would not go well inside those shuttles. It is a bit of an annoyance on strip buses.

I will share that not getting on the shuttle is not the end of seeing a move from Gold Coast to Orleans. A cab would not be much. The 104 bus runs right along Arville. And I was struck one year with the irony of spending an hour on the Orleans treadmill when I could just roll my luggage to the Gold Coast in the fresh air with plenty of entertainment along the way. I've walked it a few times in the spring and fall. it would not be good in August. It is a safe walk and good exercise, but I would only do it with good rolling luggage. One year I had the large bag and a smaller one tied to the top that kept slipping out and needing to be strapped again. Tucked in a little plaza half way is a fine Laundromat at well. I keep up with my laundry these days right in my room where I have television news to entertain me, but there might be a time I"d stop and do a load. I used to do that when I rented a car. They had a fine Ms. Packman quarter game that made the time go quickly. The attendants were friendly and it never seemed overcrowded. However, the shuttle with luggage is the better bet.

I fogot to add that I have stayed at Orleans 3 other times and never had a problem with luggage. this driver (which I never seen before) maybe new kept saying I don't make the rules. forgetting that he is working for tips, that I always give.

Hopefully the driver will have it figured out by the time I take luggage on Sunday. Moving from GC to Orleans and back again after 4 more nights. Hey - free rooms are good rooms!
