As we edge closer to the end of an era at The Riviera, I thought this was interesting quick read. The publisher of the Las Vegas Sun shares his father's (Hank's) comments on the opening of The Riv in 1955.

Hard to imagine that elevators were a fancy new thing in 1955, at least to Vegas.

" Riviera would be another Fontainebleau" this line stood out as there is one....practicality nextdoor... unopened.

Yeah I was shocked over the gushing of the elevator considering they were around for almost 100 years at that point...
