So here's something I've noticed for years but never bothered to ask. What's the deal with the gold medallions worn by the dealers at Caesars? Is it just a tradition from the early days of the casino? It seems like it would be more of a nuisance than anything else for the dealers...flopping back and forth when they're reaching for cards and chips. Personally, I think the whole getup looks hideous. Maybe it's just me, but there's something about the white, unbuttoned shirts with the dangling gold medallion that makes all of the dealers look like sleazy lounge lizards :)

I think it's an old school tradition. I have one some where from a drunken night at a craps table when I threw a $5 yo bet for the crew and told the dealer I want his if it hit...he said sure and luckily it did

I couldn't agree more. I hate those outfits and think they are beyond tacky. They don't even wear those in Caesars AC, where it would actually fit in better with a good deal of the jersey crowd.

Obviously in the minority here but I like them. I was there last year and the dealer said he had been there almost since it opened. Man he could tell some stories and that medallion and his tales just made me think back to what vintage Vegas might have been like. Sounded really great.

I have one at home which my wife got from a dealer on our wedding day by asking politely. I always thought they were quite cool but can see why they would be a pain when working!

Are they the same cheesy medallions they used to hand out all the time? There used to be funbook coupons to get them from Total Rewards and "Ceasar" and "Cleopatra" used to give them out during their walkabouts.

I like the medallions that the dealers wear. Las Vegas kitsch in the place that really started the trends that would predominate for decades.
