    My Trip Report

Hoping if I post pre-trip that I'll be more inclined to followup w/ a semi-live report - that's my goal, with lots of pictures! Thursday is likely to be more live before my sister gets there.

It's my sister's first trip to Las Vegas. She's expecting me to still be in bed when she gets in, but I'm going to surprise her at the airport. Only a few firm plans and lots of wandering likely. She doesn't drink, but I do, might be interesting.

Hope to entertain and hopefully help someone. Also hope to WIN of course!

    Background:
I've only played Cosmo once, easily hit Sterling, not sure how close to Gold
Staying at Cosmo on Mothers Day promo ($400 + potential bonus)
Double booking with Planet Hollywood to redeem FP there ($450)
Reached Diamond Level I (CET) on my trip to Vegas in early March (with Winter tier bonus)
    I'm Marriott Platinum
I mostly play slots - I gamble for fun and enjoy not having to "think" and mostly just hit a button :)

    The Plan....

Ok, I occasionally use Evernote and like it to save vegas items and have used it to do a bit of pre-trip planning (um, I like lists, I even have a packing list - otherwise I forget things, important things like bathing suits, medicine, drivers license, lol)

Here's the current plan. I'll try to redo the formatting on a computer later (it's much prettier in evernote, haha)

    Pre-tripping
    • Ditch this sinus infection!
    • Donate 12" of hair and sport new short 'do
    • Figure out how the heck to do new 'do, ponytail or braid will no longer be an option
    • Line up sedan/limo to pick me up at Cosmo & get sis @ airport. (DONE)
    • Touch base w/ Cosmo host to change room type
    • Pedi/mani if time allows
    • Packing
    • Get cash (mostly for tips, use LOC)

    Thursday
    • Arrive @ Cosmo - attempt to upgrade room now that sis is coming
    • Set up LOC (i.e. sign stuff )
    • Get free play
    • Check identity points and get another card
    • Tropicana for loss rebate ?
    • Eat sushi (before sis gets to town, she doesn't like)
    • Play loose slots!
    • Check out Cosmo pools for June trip
    • Walgreens for:
    • Bananas
    • Water / juice
    • Saline rinse
    • Distilled water

    Friday - day

    • Get up too dang early to surprise sis at airport
    • Her first trip, having a car pick me up at Cosmo, then get her and drive around a bit
    • Tool around strip, maybe grab breakfast, picture at infamous sign
    • Back to Cosmo, get sis into hotel
    • Over to Planet Hollywood to check in, get fp, and attempt to acquire show tickets
    • Get FP
    • Free monthly Diamond tickets to show
    • Diamond Level 1 High Roller tickets
    • Spend a bunch of money at CET properties while wandering with sis. Try to hit the following:
    • Caesars (save for Saturday?)
    • Cromwell
    • Linq (high roller? )
    • Paris
    • Planet Hollywood

    Friday - evening

    • Slots at Cosmo
    • Dinner at e' (only me, sis to a show hopefully)
    • Hanging out cosmo probably
    • Maybe poker over at PHo

    Saturday - Day
    • Trip to Bellagio
    • Lunch at Payard's
    • Gaming - find more loose slots

    Saturday - evening
    • Afternoon/early evening at Fremont Street?
    • Cosmo drawing at 10 pm
    • "Check out" at Planet Hollywood

    Sunday - Morning
    • Wake up way too darn early again
    • Check with host and depart Cosmo :(

    Other things to do
    • Check out Aria
    • Hit up NYNY
    • Downtown / Fremont Street
    • Container park
    • City Center

Still haven't ditched the sinus infection, but trying my darnedest! Tomorrow night is the first of what I'm considering prepping. I'm chopping off my hair (donate) - try to do this every few years. Below is a before picture from about 6 months ago. I have kids, tons of pics of them, very few of me haha!

Got this from MyVegas today for my sister. She'll enjoy it, and I'll tip cocktail waitresses for extra cherries while attempting to increase my money by pressing buttons while she browses the pretty eggs and whatnot.

After chopping off about 16 inches. Should help me keep my cool in Vegas. I'd take a pic of the braid I'm mailing in, but both my husband and sister (completely independently) concluded the picture of my dark brown braid in a ziploc looks like a giant dog turd...

extra cherries in the drink? on the slot? or both?

I plead not guilty to ordering extra cherries....or maybe no contest, need to consult my attorney. Looking forward to this trip report!

Kind of looks like a Comme des Garcons polo with that heart on it. Maybe you can launch a new line?

My attorney's fees were too high so I'm going to ignore the question, but I will say I've been partial to Dirty Shirleys lately...
    Haha - I'm in ;)

I love planning! Don't worry, you're not the only one that plans.... I'm all planned for my July trip and pretty much planned for my December trip!

Have fun in Vegas with your sister and win lots!

Thanks, haha. Trying to squeeze in a bunch Thursday before she gets there and the timing of a few things is important. I usually only have a few things planned, a few things to hopefully do and then remain pretty fluid.

This time have to work around a couple "scheduled" things and since I was home sick and bored a fair amount the last week, I wrote it all down, lol. It's still fairly fluid though.

I texted Borat to my sister today, she was amused ;)

I have never stepped foot in the Tropicana

Is their loss rebate worth going by for? I i wll be at Cosmo 6/8-6/13, so I am excited to follow along with this one.

I like the short hair on you, looks good. Probably nice for summertime

Thanks for donating the hair. Locks for Love appreciates it. I donated twice.

Also I'll try not to photobomb any of your pics during my stay. (try)

Eh, $200, not sure it's worth it - this was going to be a solo trip so it was something to do and head to that end of the strip - plus I could pick up the second half next trip. (basically $100 back now, $100 back next month )

I'm not sure if/how the sale of the Trop will impact it, not super high on priority list anymore :)
I started sending mine to Pantene or wigs for kids - they all appreciate it for sure :) thanks to you too!

It would be hilarious to inadvertently catch someone on the board in a pic!

Not opposed to a meetup, let me know :D. I can't see when you are there on my phone :( (no tickers)

*in a sing song voice* I've got a golden ticket!

Perhaps this will lead to fortune on willy wonka...

Note: if you aren't familiar, e' at Jose Andres in Cosmo sends these when you have a reservation to dine with them. I have a reservation there next weekend. Fun touch! If you want to eat there, they have 2 seatings per day and you have to email for reservations. There are threads on VMB with more details and some great pics and TRs with reviews.
