I recently booked my trip through Orbitz for the Bellagio. I had the option to upgrade to a fountain view room and now that I have been reading reviews, I'm seeing that unless you upgrade to a "deluxe" fountain view room, you get put in the Spa Tower and you don't really have a view of the fountains.

I feel kind of jipped if that's true. Has anyone ever heard of this or had this happen to them? I'm going to be really disappointed because they obviously don't list that on the Orbitz site. Don't know if it's too late to request a standard room for less if that's the case.

Great question JWingle, I'm looking at a Premier Fountain Room for my trip and from what I understand these do have a good view of the fountains

Yes that's true. The basic fountain view rooms are in the spa tower.

I wouldn't say you don't really have a view of the fountains. You do.

But it's not the awesome view from the center of the main tower.

We stayed there 2 yrs. ago and got a "fountain view", it was in the main hotel but on a low floor so some of the view was restricted by the roofs of the restaurants and Fontana Bar (at that time?). My DW did use the $20 trick so maybe we would have been put in the spa tower on our regular res.

So I guess they've changed their former "partial lake view" to "lake view" and now the "deluxe lake view" is now the old "lake view"

    Sneaky.

Yeah they'll spin it anyway they can to put "Lake" in the description of as many rooms as they can.
