Based on the idea of the game from some other posts, and trying to best hone the rules after mulling it over:

    2+ players
Begin with sidebet either involving $ or loser buys dinner, etc

Preset agreement of how many "holes" ie bars.

Minimum 1 drink consumed per bar.
Start with $20. This can be adjusted for any denomination based on the same units.

Must play at each hole to either:
    Lose the $20, +1 (bogey).
    Up to $30, -1. Option to keep playing with every $10 increment -1 additional, ie $40 = -2, $50 = -3, or cashout at $30 for -1.

If you're the last one with money active, option to cashout at $20 for par (0). Anything less than $20 (ie $15) is still +1 like you busted to encourage playing.

PLEASE CRITIQUE! Where are the flaws in this rule set?

Next weekend is going to be funnnnn.

I like it... seems like a fun way to get around the strip with motivation and side action....

You don't have to say bogey or -1.
You are playing match play as opposed to stroke play. Who wins a "hole" is the only thing that is important.
Make sure you have an odd amount of "holes" agreed on so a tie is not possible.

Well the goal was to be playing stroke play guess I wasn't very clear. Otherwise the person at $30 has no incentive to continue while the other person is at, say, $10. In stroke, the person at $30 can go for futher stroke reduction by hitting higher $10 increments. Also, if you're down 4 strokes at hole 8 of 9, you go for the quads with a kicker even at $40 to take the lead. More gamble!

Downtown, we could easily do 9 "holes". Strip, we may have to include multiple bars per casino... I see our travel speed reducing down the stretch, lol.

Completing a front 9 should be considered a success.

I think it would be good to include a minimum number of hands per hole to ensure playing is fair. Don't want someone getting over $20.00 and waiting for the other to go broke.

Offer a Mulligan! If one player rips through his $20 in no time, they are allowed to put in another $20, but they need to get that back up to $40 to hit par. And only allow one Mulligan in the round.

Is there a maximum amount of time you can stay at each bar? My concern would be Player A busting in a few minutes and having to watch another player for 30 minutes or longer.

Sounds like fun! Only thing that occurs to me is to set an upper limit (hole in one) for anything about +xxx some amount. If someone gets a Royal its all over.

That is a good point... unless royal buys dinner!

I don't see this being an issue.. once A busts, B hits $30 and will probably take the -1, hit 20 to take a par or bust. I don't see bouncing between 0-20$ for 30+ minutes very often.

    I like this! Good idea.

And if someone hits a Royal, tipping and dinner is on them rest of the round so the other guys get a shot at a Royal as well. :-D

    Both?

Probably D > up and around back down to DT Grand/Fremont route, and maybe a Aria>Cosmo>B>Caesers>Flamingo>Ballys>paris>PHo>cosmo route..
