This is a few years ago so maybe it's been renovated away, but I recall having a country fried steak and eggs at a diner/café kind of right on the casino floor, and you could sit at the counter and the cook was right there cooking. Maybe my memory betrays me (it was several years ago and I was quite drunk at the time) but it seems to me it was right on Fremont, kinda in the vicinity of the 4 Queens.

I spent some time hunting for it last trip but didn't find it. Does anyone recall such a place, does it still exist?

I think you're referring to Binions. They did a remodel last year but I don't recall how it affected the bar area.

I agree, it was Binion's you're thinking of. The remodeled just closed in the cafe and made it larger, but the bar area is still there. Also, the kitchen area looks much cleaner!

    Have fun!

Just left Dupars. Had shrimp at the counter and watched the cooks cook.

I would go with Binions. It's kitty corner to 4 queens and you used to be able to sit at the counter and see the cook. Dupars has only been in that location a couple years.

Dupars kind of fits the bill, if you sit at the rail you can watch the waiters/waitresses running around making toast and orange juice. Right behind them you can see the cooks, but you cant really see to much of the grill itself. I really enjoy it there in the morning, its nice and quiet. My only gripe is you pay at a register instead of just paying the server.

I think Binions is the correct answer, the floor layout of the restaurant seems similar to what I remember. It's too bad they changed it, I liked it better prior to the renovation, plus I've never cooked in a restaurant before so it was interesting to watch someone do it, so many things happening at once.

I ate a Subway Sandwich at the counter at the Subway at the 4 Queens... it was not a sit down counter... the staff got really pissed too! Oh-yea... I was quite drunk at the time too... but at least I remembered where I was? :poke:
