Besides quite a few for the Brewers to win the World Series...did it again this year. Biggest I one I regret not making, actually a series of bets.
Before leaving for Vegas I would always ask my business partner if ther were any bets he wanted placed, usually a Packer super bowl would be the bet made. Jokingly I aske his 4 years son if he had any bets. The kid rattles of red, even, big number, green and 20. My business partner said "roulette" I only play roulette if the wife is with me and she wants to play. One evening she suggested playing we sat down and I did not think about the kids statement. We were a few spins of the wheel in it hits 00 then it hit me I look up at the score board last four numbers were 3 red, 16 red (both my wife's numbers her birthday and mine) 31 black, 00. I am like your effing kidding me, wife asks what I just tell her 20 now. I put all my chips on it and she did the same. The number hit I had 50 on it and she only put 20 on it. I did not play the next spin instead I just started doing month in my head 20.....40.....80.....160...2700...then 27 x35 shit. I think the actual total would have been over 100k. If only I would have listened to the 4 year old.

Me and a bunch of friends were out in Vegas when the Buster Douglas/Mike Tyson fight was scheduled.
After gambling and drinking all day, we were chillin in a Mirage tower suite, enjoying the amenities, and we saw on TV that Douglas was a 99-to-1 underdog!

So, we all started talking about pooling $20 each and one of us going downstairs to place the bet on Douglas...it would've been a $100 bet. Nobody wanted to make the long trip to the sports book - we were all tired and drunk...that bet would have paid the five of us over $10,000.

Now THAT is a bet all of us regret not making.

A few for sure......walked in to the Book at the Mirage between check in and the elevator to get the football sheets. Looked up at the Emerald Downs horse track and saw a horse with a great name, " Trippin' Out Of A Dream " . It was 10:1 so not really along shot, put a quick twenty on and watched the race. Won going away.....funny thing is we both had said let's do a hundred, then went no way, twenty is probably dumb already on a just a name. D'OH ! Still won $200.00....but still.

Way early on in my sports betting exploits I did a five way college football parlay for ten bucks while staying at Sam's. My buddy shadowed me for five bucks and as I followed the teams all day I was winning. Watched the last game at a bar and, bingo, winner. Went to cash our tickets, kept kicking back out of the machine as loser, ticket writer " should be a winner", called the manager and he looked and looked too at the finals and the ticket......I had bet North Carolina St. while meaning to bet North Carolina on the parlay card and none of us noticed right away. I felt so dumb, I had already spent all the money in my head on fun stuff.

Check your tickets before you leave the window !

My fiance' is getting to be very good at both college and pro football, I try and shadow her bets when I can't find ones I like......she had bet the future on the Seahawks to win before the season started the year they won the Super Bowl. I said no way, I think she cleared just over $3700.00 on around a $400.00 bet if I recall. I sure regret that one, both the money and the told ya' so's :):):)

Not buying up as much MARTHA STEWART stock when it fell
    to cents, on the dollar.
It was years ago -- I think she spoke an ethnic slur + ALL MEDIA pronounced
her career + products DEAD !!!
Her company stock fell to some unbelieveably low amount ?.....cents !!!
    And somehow ---
I didn't believe for a minute that she was through -
I knew she'd come back strong.
This was before I became a Las Vegas gambler.
I kicked my own ass for years - as I watched that stock rise + rise again !

Last time I was at Riviara. I was hitting hard ways, and numbers for about 30+ min. Should have been betting $25 come bets, and pressing my hard ways. Would have been up over $2k I think.

Being the only person at a Three Card Poker table at NYNY to not bet the dollar bonus bet, and the other 5 older gentlemen saying I was a fool. I knew they were actually the fools betting the sucker bet. Until 4 hands in looking down at AKQ Spades. Said....oh you guys are gonna be pissed off when you see this. Missed the $4,600 progressive.

Last September my cousin was going to Vegas and I was going to give him $50 to put on the Cardinals and $50 to put on the Giants. But I decided against it. Giants paid 13/1 at the time. Would have been a nice $550 profit to pick up when I got the Vegas the following November. It's not a lot of money, but it's still money!

Oh, and last trip, my favourite wheel of fortune machine at the Linq wouldn't take my $100, so me and a buddy switched machines. He won the $500 progressive jackpot on the third spin. That hurt

We arrived in Vegas on Super Bowl Sunday (2002, I think) in the afternoon. I didn't get to the window in time to take the Pats, who were 14-point underdogs. It was a lock, as I saw it. No way they were going to lose by that much.

    Super bowl 2012

At a Not to be named CET casino sports book, as we were standing in line, my wife had a Rain-man moment.
She was saying 1st score safety, safety,Giants Safety, No sheets were laying around, so I just bet straight up
for the Giants to win. Wanted to duo it with Manning as MVP, but "no dice, cant bet on mvp" /sigh

Spread was 45-65 to 1. for 1st score a safety by The Giants!

/oo wished for a groundhog day, would be Epic! :nworthy:

The Pats/Rams SB, I bet 1/50 ($10 to lose $500) that the game would NOT go into overtime. It did not, but very well should have as Brady drove the Pats 30-40 yds to set up a 50 something yard field goal that Vinatieri nailed.

I won the bet, but as a poor college kid.. It was certainly not worth the sweat.

1990's? Apple is staring bankruptcy in the face, younger woman at work asks for a stock tip, I suggested Apple. Should have taken my own advice.

Years ago I was just learning craps and had $5 minimum mastered but was playing at a $3 table at Golden Gate. I quit playing because the $3 bets were confusing me (this was single odds days). The woman kept throwing point after point while I stood there kicking myself. I gave up watching and left before her hand ended. There was very little action on the table so she was throwing lots of numbers with little delay, no idea how much this cost me but it probably would have made that trip.

    Not making: 2 of em
First trip betting basketball ( had only played BJ prior ) and bet $2 on a 10-team parlay at 1000-1 ( special promo normally 500-1 though true odds 1023-1 ). Had a lot of other small parlays and straight bets and was doing pretty well when we took a dinner break. I look at the 10-teamer and realize that the first 9 have won and have Depaul -1 at home for my 10th - which hasn't started. I thought about laying off some of it before the game started but didn't feel like leaving the restaurant. DePaul leads the whole game but gets tied right at the buzzer on a 3. Then losses by 2 in OT. Did get a 25-1 9/10 consolation but so close! Now I would lay it off for at least 800 I'd think.

Another trip we are running around to all the downtown sportsbooks checking lines for several things and I notice that one book has Russia -1.5 +145 in Olympic hockey and another has their opponent +2 +150. I asked how much action they'd take and the second said 2 dimes - which shocked me because downtown books are nortoriously tight on action. I should have had one of my buddies wait 5 minutes ( for me to go back to the other ) and both lay down bets simultaneously on each side. I had the 4 dimes and could have guaranteed $900-$1000 profit with a chance for 2900 if the game ends Russia by 2 goals. I didn't act on it and Russia won by 4 IIRC but I was stupid not to. I was worried that one of the lines was "a mistake" and they'd cancel on me.

My biggest missed bet was a stock pick too. I put a few hundred bucks in American Airlines when it was trading for 40 cents a share (two-ish years ago I think, you won't see it in the charts since the was converted to the holding company's stock AAMRQ for a while). Biggest airline in the US, no way they are going down right? Sure enough I was right but I got excited when the share price doubled to 80 cents a share and sold it, I think the holding company shares finally converted on a reverse split around 11 dollars a share. Oh well, coulda woulda shoulda.

My last trip, after getting a little tipsy at an Aria craps table, I threw $10 each on All Tall/All Small but not the ALL for some alcohol influenced reason. The roll quickly hit all numbers (must of only taken 15 or so rolls). I got paid decently, but it would've been that much sweeter. Looking at it big picture, it was the first time I ever made an "exotic" bet on a craps and will probably be my last, so I guess I'm alright.

Remembering back to those moments really shows how most gamblers (at least for myself and the ones I know) always remember the what could've beens and bad beats, rather than the good wins.

You can bet on Emerald Downs in Vegas? Didn't know it was that popular of a track.

Numerous sports bets both where I regretted making them and not making them. The biggest that comes to mind right now was taking the Broncos over Seattle a couple years ago. Soured the trip for me.

Just thought of another one...I got drunk and tilted at craps and forgot to go put in a college football bet once. It was on Oregon ( I forget who they were playing) and I had $1100 in my pocket just for that bet but my dumbass stayed right there at that craps table that ate my chips up continuously. They were favored by 13 and won by 24.

I went to Oregon, and follow them religiously.

I have never lost money on an Oregon bet :)

Granted, I don't be on them for National Title games...

But yeah, they nearly always cover their spread. I don't get when I see like, "Oregon vs. Cal, spread is 13"...are you kidding me?! Take the over every day.

Yep exactly! Oregon has won me a nice chunk over the years. Although the Cal game last year cost me a pretty penny.
