    My Trip Report

Vegas April, food and Fleetwood Mac

Sadly no huge wins to report, matter of fact I chased progressives too much, luckily DW did not do the same LOL. We arrived early, 8:45 in the morning after a really nice flight in, the total opposite of the return flight which I have had roller coasters that were smoother than, and must say thank you MGM for invited guest check in as we received a text before 10:30 that our room was ready, 33 floor over looking the pool area and South valley, we could even see into Moorea Beach sadly no binoculars were available .

Had our regular meal at Backstage deli at Luxor the always good Patty Melt and Rings, and hit the slots there where we recouped a couple hundred I had lost on the progs at Mandalay, had a great round on Buffalo at 80 cents, 7 retriggers including 2 with 3 coins for a nice 180 and change win, phone was in the room charging so no pics from Luxor. DW hit a nice win on a Cats game for a bit over 60 bucks on a .75 bet as well. As we head back to MB I said hey lets go by the studio at the Sports Book and see if anyone is at the studio and luckily our buddie Brian(Goze) was there and he had his dads we had never met yet at the MMAJunkie.com studio which has been being redisgned the last few months talked to them whiel his brother George and their mother came by and took a pic in front of the new cage wall

After that we took advantage of the Spa comp at Mandalay to relax a bit before our dinner res at Bardot, We headed back to the room after the spa to get a quick nap in and clean up and then off to Aria, which is quickly becoming our favorite place on the Strip for many reasons. The lobby décor for one, the entire ceiling had Origami birds of different colors hanging from the ceiling really eye catching.

Our first stop at Aria as usual was Julian Serrano for a few Sangrias and see our fav bartender Jeffrey and his partner in crime the always entertaining Adrian. Had a quick bite to hold us over as well. This time we chose the black rice MMM MMM GOOD. Next to the floor to slot and play for a bit, I have to say of all the places we played our best play was by far Aria, DW hit a $264 and change on this game, she actually had all 200 lines in the bonus round with 8 spins left.

Meanwhile I hit 88 bucks on the Samurais Honor on a dollar bet and then DW hit this one

Aria was very good to us luckily as Mandalay Killed us me worse than her. We had a great time at Aria but the best was yet to come with our first meal at my friend Joshs new Michael Mina restaurant Bardot.

We were just going to have an app and two mains and the next thing I know here comes our waiter with the first comp dish of 4 from Josh, he gave us so many comp dishes I only managed one bite from my outstanding Duroc Pork Chop, DW did manage to finish her Gnocchi which she said was the best she had ever had anywhere, and she is a big Gnocchi fan.

    My Pork Chop

He as well comped us a wonderful Foie Gras Parfait I somehow missed getting a pic of but OMG it was GREAT. Being we were STUFFED I had them bag up my chop and some other items we did not finish, thanks to having a mini fridge for DWs insulin, and on the way out we see a former bartender from Serrano is there. Curtis immediately recognizes us and it was game on as he prepares us cocktail after cocktail comped via Josh. Afte that stop things admittedly get fuzzy the rest of the night, all I remember really is rolling into the room about 2:30

    To be continued.........................

Great pics! Loving the report ... aren't those duck wings a l'orange at Bardot just freaking awesome? Looking forward to going back for more than just apps next week. It's a fantastic new spot. Love the space, too.

The duck was phenomenal!!! But every last item we had was, I can highly recommend the Duroc chop, even the next morning after sitting in the fridge you could cut it with a fork. Definitely another stop is in order when we go back in July.

Nice pic, your seats were obviously closer than ours LOL. They put on a good show I felt, Buckingham was outstanding in his performance and Christine IMO made Stevie sound like a bullfrog by comparison, we are going to see Rush in July there as well so I will see if the simplistic show was a result of venue or just how Fleetwood does things. The sound was pretty damn good I must say compared to some other venues I have been in.

At last a moment to continue, busy weekend with Turket season, gardening and all ya know.
Saturday has arrived, with a vengeance, too little water too much booze and definitely to little sleep since my internal alarm is still on Oklahoma time. We start the day with a nice spa session, lots of water and sauna time to sweat out yesterdays session, a nice 50 minute massage as well and we are off to Bellagio to find WWIV and see the consrvatory, we start at the conservatory which as usual is wonderful and the fragrance of the freshly put out flowers is wonderful to boot, we were there by 7:30 and they were still putting out the fresh flowers for the day.

Next we do find the WW IV and while I did not do as well DW hit two nice bonus rounds and I managed to get back some of the previous days losses on some dollar machines as well, no HPs but thats fine just menas NO TAXES. We have found the slot floor at Bellagio to be consistently on of the better places to play and this trip did not dissapoint.

Next stop once again to Aria, just really loving that place more every trip from the dining options to the gaming and as we had not done breakfast yet we hit up Jean Phillipe, which is really one of the few breakfast options it seems at Aria but it is a good option, we decide to split a Croque Madam and a BOMB of a pastry
    [IMG]

Next we hit the floor again, DW hits the slots and as my luck has been not the best I decide to hit the craps tables. Now I am not a big player but decided to sit at a $25 minimum which was the most active table there and am so glad I did. I had an epic session to say the least and never even was the shooter, never before have I had such luck on the craps tables in less than an hour I managed to do something I had never done in all my years hitting three hard ways, 11, Snake Eyes and Box Cars, needless to say the reason i was never the shooter is I was not pressing my luck and took my sizeable, for me, winnings and headed to find DW with the good news, yeah she was happy :)

Next stop, our good friends at Julian Serrano where Jeffery had just put out the days batch of fresh Sangria and even had a couple of Espressos for us when we got there, knowing the previous nights escapades from Curtis at Bardot LOL. Time for some more fuel for the belly so we get some Tapas, always a good choice at a Tapas restaurant LOL. We started with a pepito de ternera which is a rib eye center on pretzel bread

next dish was Choripan Spanish Chorizo cooked inside a Swiss bread with a mustard sauce and tiny shoestring taters
    [IMG]

We finished off with a cheese platter consisting of caña de cabra: soft goat’s milk, one-year-old manchego: sheep’s milk, zamorano: non-pasteurized sheep’s milk, tetilla: semi soft cow’s milk and cambozola: creamy blue cheese cow’s milk, sorry no pic. By this time a few more folks had arrived and we struck up a great conversation with a young lady in town with a friend for a convention who was a blast to talk with, her and DW hit it off wonderfully and next thing we know we are sharing Tapas while demonstrate my knowledge of peppers by demonstarting how the Habaneros flesh itself is far from the brutal heat the pepper is known for and Adrian whips us up some cocktails using Hanbaneros whi were incredibly good.Being well lit by now after too many Sangrias and a few cocktails we high tail it to the cab area, not at Aria but at Vdara which is usually far less crowded and head back to Mandalay Bay to get ready for the Fleetwood Mac show.............stay tuned viewers.

Thanks Mr. Ocean. Serrano is our must do every trip and eventually we will have every dish on the menu, one dish I did not get a pic of is the Black Rice which if you are a Calamari fan you have to try.
