Anyone else happen to catch the HBO documentary "Going Clear" yet about the Scientology <strike>cult</strike> religion? Interesting, yet sad at the same time.

The whole thing is a complete fallacy. I don't know how anyone has been conned into going along with it. This is not a religious post, because there is no religion.

From wiki (and there are plenty of other citations):

Scientology is a body of beliefs and related practices created by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard (1911–1986), beginning in 1952 as a successor to his earlier self-help system, Dianetics.[6] Hubbard characterized Scientology as a religion, and in 1953 he incorporated the Church of Scientology in Camden, New Jersey.[7][8]

Honestly, I've never heard so much guff in my life as this lot.

    I don't predict a long shelf-life for this thread.

Well, its going to be locked now. Religion is one of the few subjects that are not permitted on VMB. Please refrain from religious discussions in the future. Thanks
