I just heard from my old host that he's no longer with Cosmo. Gave me a name of a new guy at Cosmo which I am assuming is one of his buddies, but wasn't sure if it's time to switch back to Aria or Bellagio that actually gives you express comps and tier credits for table games... any thoughts? I normally generate about 3-4K theo per visit on blackjacks, which is normally over a 3 day 4 night trip, if I do gamble. I take minimal gambling trips with my fiance as well every other trip. If you have a suggestion as to who to work with at Cosmo or even recommendation at different casinos including Aria and Bellagio, please do share thanks!

My thought: if you don't gamble every trip, its nice to have the EC from MGM. Then you can use those saved comps for the low and no play trips.

I'm thinking the same thing you are, even though my host is still at the Cosmo, and she is a great host.
The new policy changes at the Cosmo means there are no more "points/express comps" for table game players, and no more free play chips either.
The way my host rationalized it to me was that "the Cosmo offers a higher-end product", but I countered by saying "yes, but the Aria, Wynn, Bellagio, Caesar's, Venetion are also high end, if not even more high end" than the Cosmo.
So I'll still probably keep going back to stay at the Cosmo, but it won't be the slam dunk choice that it used to be.

Actually a very logical idea - I just donno why my fiance is attracted to Cosmo the most over Aria and Bellagio. I guess it's my job to convince her that Aria is as good as or even better than Cosmo...

and that's the thinking that's going to doom them.

the only thing they had going for them was promo chips.

without that program, they are never going to pull players established at the other truly high-end places.

The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking I'll stay somewhere else for the rest of the year, to protest the end of their Promo chip program.
It will be interesting to see how their new changes affects their gambling revenues going forward.

I haven't stayed there since February. When did they end the promo chips? Wow, that was a big reason I would stay here over Wynn. If the promo chips have ended, that really has me re-thinking where I will stay in the future

I had thought their gaming revenue was near the bottom anyway. Most of their EBITA comes from clubs, restaurants, and the highest ADR on the strip. Certainly their recent policy changes don't seem to jive with the statement that they would attempt to go after the high end gambler. They probably make more money on 6:5 BJ at the Bond bar.

The last batch of promo chips ended this month. They still have some slot programs for higher slot players.

I'm glad I no-played them a few weeks back with a wrap around suite. Still like the vibe there but sticking with Aria and V/P. Need a 3rd Casino on rotation wheel that's not a CET property

I just got an email from Cosmo that included quite a bit of "Identity Play", not promo chips. I assume that is freeplay on machines? Its $1600 which is a lot more than I got in promo chips from them last time so pretty good in my opinion. My only qualm with the place is I had an awkward kinda racist conversation with the credit officer there while I was signing for my line. Otherwise I do like the suites there, not crazy about the casino though. So hard to win for some reason.

I talked to my host last evening. She indicated marketing is having a meeting next week to discuss resuming promo chips. She didn't give me an indication either way of how she thinks the meeting will turn out, but her tone was not encouraging

I don't get, or ever did get promo chips from the Cosmo....I'm a Slut player, so I only got identity play. I noticed that my identity play offer this month was double of what it normally is.

Seems as though they are leaving the table players high and dry and aggressively gong after the slut fanatics (like me)?

Pretty much identical to what every other casino group has done.

Anybody that puts 500 into slots can get free play.

But promo chips require an act of God.

From my experience in the Cosmo casino their dominant clientel play slots and 6/5 blackjack. I have found the HL room to be likewise a microcosm of the floor, with some games that I will (hopefully) never
see in another HL room. The vibe is just different, at least to me.
The Talon room has been dead the 1/2 dozen times I've been there.
I imagine they are trying to decide how they can get bigger players who play bacc and craps while still keeping the legions of ploppies who make them their money outside the casino and on their horrible floor games.
