    Hey gang,
    We're traveling next month with some friends of our who are complete Vegas Noobs and we've already started a list of some things they must see and do while we're there. But I got to wondering what some of you guys would put on the short list if you were escorting a couple of Vegas Virgins.

    We've been so many times that we're stuck in our comfortable rut and I think watching our wide-eyed friends will make this trip really fun.

    TIA for your thoughts!

    Depends on their age, what their personalities are like, and how much they're willing to spend, but since I don't know them, here's what I'd suggest based on my own personal preferences:

    * Lunch at the Wynn Country Club
    * Mandalay Bay Border Grill Brunch and taking a dip in the Mandalay Bay pool during a hot day
    * Caesar's Palace Forum Shops
    * Bellagio Conservatory
    * Bellagio Fountains at night
    * Mirage Volcano at night
    * Dinner at the SW Steakhouse patio, from which you can see the Lake of Dreams show
    * Some Cirque du Soleil show. There's billions to choose from.

    Won't repeat what's been mentioned, but will add:

    Visit the Desert landscape, but it seems you're from Utah so that might be old news to them if they are too. Great for those from the Midwest, East Coast or out of US.

    See the lights come on. Go to any place with a view at sunset and stay til dark.

    Get day drunk if you drink. If not, eat tons of sugar at one of the many available fine pastry and sweet shops. If you don't drink or eat sugar, indulge some other vice!

    See the sun rise before you go to bed at least once.

    In July we took 16 friends and family with us to vegas for our 10th anniversary, most of which were first-timers. They were amazed with all of the things on the strip, Eiffel Tower, Bellagio fountains, etc...but want to know what amazed them the most and what they still talk about it the most....Freemont street, so make sure you get an evening in downtown, it makes quite the impression for first timers!!!

    We went twice in the past year with couples that had never been. One couple was enthralled with all that the Venetian had to offer...beauty, glitz, architecture and gaming. Another was most impressed with the Happy Hour at the Stratosphere (2 for 1 drinks and hors-d'oeuvres and free elevator to the top). I would also recommend a trip to Grand Canyon if time permits.

    The night we arrive we eat at Casa Di Amore- it offers free limo ride to and from hotel. it's great food and keyboard player- gets us in the mood for vegas.. We stop at the Vegas sign on our way to out hotel to get an infamous picture.... We like sitting on the strip somewhere with a cocktail and people watch...Ride the High Roller wheel- beautiful views.. and Casino Royal we always stop by there to play the big "wheel of Fortune Wheel " it's a crowd engager!

    A couple of years ago I took my (then) new girlfriend for her first time. It was fun "rediscovering" Vegas. After awhile I think we all tend to get into a routine there. For her first trip we went to Hoover Dam, Red Rock, walked the strip, took in a couple of shows, Bellagio fountains, a couple of strip clubs.

    although not for everyone, my choice would be a helicopter ride to see the Grand Canyon. It was amazing and something I'll never forget!

    Walk through the Venetian. It's a frankly ridiculous size.

    The neon museum is really good - I've done both day and night and the latter is much better.

    Bellagio fountains and conservatory.

    Mix bar

    Go up The STRAT .

    Eat at the top of the strat.

    Avoid making too many plans though. They never seem to all fit in when you're there.

    Used to be the lion exhibit at MGM for me, but without repeating anyone I'd say the Atomic Testing Museum on Flamingo. Not the most exciting thing to do in town, but it damn sure is fascinating.

    Looks like you'll just miss Riviera.

    Be sure to take them to Luxor and Mandalay Bay.......OUTSIDE! Take pics, whatever. But many people who visit those properties take the tram and remain indoors, The best part is outside.

    While you're down there, take pics at the Las Vegas sign.

    Take a ride on the Zip Line at Rio with video.

    Eiffel Tower, Mon Ami Gabi at Paris.

    The Wax Museum at Venetian.

    Bellagio Gardens.

    Check out the new CVS at TI.....pics are a must.....:wink2:

    How long is your trip?

    My short list would be:

    Fremont St. one evening.
    Bellagio fountains and Conservatory.
    Mirage Volcano, then walk across to Venetian/Palazzo and check the place out.
    Cruise the Strip at night (if you have access to a car)

    Tons of other stuff to do but just take it easy. They'll definitely get hooked and would want to come back.

    Go to a place with a view of the strip. There are several to choose from all from a different angel.
    1. Top of the Stratosphere, going up to the lounge is free and they have a nice 2/1 happy hour and reduced price apps.
    2 the lounge at the top of The hotel in Mandalay Bay, we went before 5 there was no charge to go in and watched the sunset. They didn't even bother us to have a drink, it was very laid back when we went.
    3. Voodo lounge at the Rio, might get in free in you go early else even from the top floor of the muti story parking lot there was a nice view.
    4. The Mandarin Oriental you can just go up to the lobby which is on a high floor and see a nice view, there is a tea room right there as well. If you go check out the bathroom, really nice.

    You already have some great suggestions. The Bellagio Fountains is a "must do" for virgins in my book.

    I only recommend to keep the "must do" items to a handful. There is so much to see that you will kill yourselves trying to do them all. For example, I think the dam tour is great, but don't kill one of your days on the virgin trip... save the dam for a follow-up trip.

    Enjoy!

    If they are the sing along type...dueling pianos at Harrah's is always a great time.

    Thanks everybody! Lot of great suggestions. Lots that were already in my mind, but a lot I hadn't even thought of and even a few we haven't done! We're gonna have a great trip.
