Last summer we played for the first time at the Plaza... an afternoon session.
We used the electronic machines, didn't win, but sure had fun when we were "one away"!

Played first time at fiesta rancho in February. They are all paper which my wife wanted to play,. It was very different than local school fundraiser bingo, double bingo, hardway only etc. We played cheapest package at $8 each. My wife hit a bingo and won $50.

Wife and I spent about $50 and bought some bingo with an electronic machine. We'd rather play one machine so we feel like we're playing "together" in our two little love birds style. About our third time doing this. There was an announcement that each player had to have their own machine. My wife didn't hear it. I ignored it since we had bought in for over double the individual minimum. They made the announcement a couple more times. We were a little hungover or as we call it at our mature ages, the wine flu. We were drinking their complimentary bingo water. We are two away and bingo security comes up and tells my wife and me that one of us will have to leave. My wife refused and appealed for a management ruling. While we waited for management, we are one away. I could feel the old biddies in the room had it out for us. The manager came over with additional security forces and insisted my wife leave. The bingo machine hits and does its singing that we won. I raise my hand to signal bingo. There is a commotion in the middle of the floor what with bingo security, the manager, my upset wife, and the Bingo all at once. The bingo caller gets snotty with me asking if I have bingo or not and to keep my hand up. As if she and the whole room can't see the spectacle. My wife sat outside while I waited to get paid $200 for the bingo. I'm a lot of biddies were displeased that we won.

The first time playing bingo we used the paper cards. We could not keep up. It was like the I Love Lucy episode with the candy conveyor belt.

Yes, Fligster, Vegas bingo is not church bingo!

We were in a bingo game were someone hit something like the full card on 38 numbers called and won about $28,000.

The first time my wife and I played Bingo was at Red Rock Casino. We had no idea what to do. After looking around we saw the vending machines where you can buy the daubers (markers), so we did that. Next we walked up and bought our game pkgs. that the bingo people explained in rapid detail, leaving us cross-eyed, lol!

Then it was showtime! The games started and the numbers were called, one after the other. They were called so fast that I swear it rivaled an M-60 machine gun.

All I remember was: "Wait, what was that last number? Oh shit, I'm on the wrong sheet.... Damn, I wish they would go slower....WTF...what did she say? Her accent is too strong.....Wait, dammit, WAIT!!.....ok....47...WAIT, GUN FUNNIT.....Aww shit I dunno what I'm doing.....Ohhh man, what are those machines those other guys are holding.....Huh??? Somebody had Bingo? ALREADY??? You know what.....I fu#kn quit....."

Moral of the story: Buy those machines. They do all the work. Just sit back, sip your drink, and relax. "Yeah, yeah, Sweetheart, call out those damn numbers as fast as you want, I don't care....." :evillaugh:beer:

I'm not an expert, but the odds of hitting a coverall in 38 numbers are astronomical. According to the Wizard of Odds. You have far less than a one-percent chance: 0.00000000023690437841

48 cards is an incredibly long shot, but I could see that happening in Vegas. But I'm not an expert, I've never sat in a room with thousands of bingo players, so I don't know what is typical for a coverall. At my local bingo hall it typically takes 58 numbers or more per coverall, and sometimes over 60, but we're talking about less than 200 players, usually. I think the lowest I've ever seen a coverall hit in is 49, and it's quite rare to see one hit in fewer 55 numbers, so 49 was rather amazing.

As for my bingo story: I don't play very often, maybe twice per year. I happened to have the day off and be in the neighborhood so I played last Friday afternoon. I can keep up with paper cards, barely. I have bought machines the past few times I've played, but I went cheap on Friday and played only paper. I could have had a chance in every game for $15 or less, but I spent a little extra on some games. I think I invested all of $23 in my play, and I won a $99 game.

You're right, 38, is too few numbers. South Point offers a $10,000 jackpot for a coverall in 52 numbers or less. They have a Progressive Double Action Jackpot of $50,222 in 34balls

This is not a Las Vegas bingo story; my Bingo excursion was to Turning Stone Casino/Bingo Hall in New York. My wife Rose and daughter Sherri both were talking about going to Turning Stone someday so I decided to treat them to a 2 night 3 day trip starting New Years day. I booked a motel room 2 miles from the casino. We arrived around 1:30pm and checked into the room. We got to the casino and got in LINE to buy our package(s). I emphasized line because it was long !... and full of whiney, complaining seasoned citizens. After an hour of listening to the complaining, we got our packages (paper cards) and we got seats in the smoking side (both my wife and daughter smoke--I quit 13 yrs. ago) of the 1500 seat bingo hall.
Both females are veteran bingo players. While I understand the game/rules, I am a virgin bingo hall player. My daughter had a list of the different gamers that were scheduled to be played and showed me how to 'fix' my cards to block the numbers Not needed for a win. :confused2: The non smoking side of the hall was full and as luck would have it 4 non smoking ladies sat next to us... and proceeded to 'cough' and bitch about people smoking as they knowingly sat in a smoking allowed bingo hall. It was not bad at all as there were ample smoke eaters in operation. :rolleyes2:

When the bingo games began, I struggled to keep up with the number caller...I was sweating worse than a hooker in church...this wasn't fun...this was Work!!! My wife saw me struggling and gave me help and some pointers on how to efficiently watch bingo cards. :nworthy: By the 2nd game I was getting the hang of it. I was also no where near being able to holler Bingo. :rolleyes2: I figured my cards were defective! About half way through the session, the casino handed out Coupon Sheets containing 12 months of free "specials packages." each coupon was worth $8. These coupons were the reason for the super large crowds...There were bus trips from Canada so they could get these coupons. :bang: Those coupons were more popular than walkers at an AARP Convention. For the remainder of the bingo session, I never got close to yelling Bingo but I did get better at watching my cards... and biting my tongue as I listened to the non smoker complaints. Right before intermission, Sherri got in line early to purchase packages for the evening session...the lines were so long that she was not able to buy the packages. When the afternoon session ended we saw the lines and decided that we'd visit the casino instead of attempting to play bingo that evening. Nobody got lucky, Rose was about even on the slots, but Sherri and I lost small amounts. Knowing what I know now, the VP pay tables at Turning Stone are crap.
The next morning we saw the line was short so we went for the breakfast buffet. (BIG MISTAKE) After eating breakfast we were presented with a line that was longer than the previous day! The casino was again handing out the coupon sheets. After surviving the line wait, we got seats in the smoking section and were surrounded by like minded people. At this point, I was an old pro regarding card setup and watching the cards. Unfortunately, our bingo luck was no better than the day before. Seeing as we were not going to return to Turning Stone for the rest of the year; we put smiles on our table mates faces when we gave away the coupons we were not going to use.
We played a bit more in the casino after the bingo session but nothing big was won. My wife did turn $20 into $130.:nworthy: While Sherri's and my luck stayed the same. While it wasn't a winning trip, we did have a "memorable" time.
To add insult to injury we ended up driving into a snow storm on the way home which turned a 3 hour drive into a 6 hour headache.

At the LV games do they sell pull tabs? That's 90% of the bingo fun...

Non LV bingo story: I used to play with my friends at a church bingo place. We were the youngest by 50 years. Some of those old ladies would work five giant sheets with ease. I could do two if I really concentrated. We found out that usually the person about to call bingo would start ripping their sheet off the pack in anticipation of handing it to the caller to verify that they had the bingo. Well the smart ass I was, I would just randomly rip my sheet when I thought I game was getting near the end. People would groan but I'd not call bingo which made them really mad.

We once went to a bingo place where everyone knew each other and we got the stink eye being strangers. They sure got mad when my buddy hit a pull tab for four grand. I think we were about to be run out of the place.

I play all the time here in PHX at the tribe casinos.

There are three jackpots at the place I play, the super X (have to get an X), Lucky 7 (have to get a 7), and Grand Slam (have to get a diamond). Middle of last year, the Lucky 7 was over $200k

I have only won a few small normal hits. But last week, there were TWO winners on the Super X, had to split the $16k jackpot...it was insane.

Played for the first time in many years at South Point with some friends. Lady sells us the tickets and recommends a small package or the machines. Being young and pompous, none of us listen to her advice and get the big package. A whole $12 each... Game is about to start and the same lady is the caller. First game is an L- shape pattern. No one tells me. I get a diagonal bingo in 5 numbers. SUPER psyched, I slam the table, stand up and in the most matter-of-fact tone yell "BINGO." There's a three second pause as the lady just stares at me from across the room and says, "you don't have bingo" in this dry "effin kids" tone. It's at that point one of the FIVE PEOPLE IM WITH finally tells me the first game is the L shape. I yell, "My apologies, you may resume" She laughs and I make an ass of myself in front of 100 or so people. I sit down and my friend mutters, "Well I feel like I got $12 worth already"

I used to play Bingo every sunday at 10 pm with my girlfriend at a local hall. We made a deal that we'd always split our winnings. I won $1000 twice and $500 once. She never won anything. Now she goes without me and seems to win $200 every time. But of course, she doesn't split since I'm not there and that wasn't the deal.

And she wonders why she doesn't get to come to Vegas with me anymore...

Yup, I never played in Reno or Vegas...but I played a LONG time ago at a Tribal casino...played every wednesday (moreso to go eat their great seafood buffet)
After the 3rd or 4th week, I managed to hit a $1000 bingo (paper packs always for me! The machines are too boring)...I never went back, LOL.

Playing bingo at the local Serbian hall. They have a game where you fill in 9 of the bingo numbers on a 3X3 card. No letters just numbers. There is a progressive jackpot that if you get all the numbers within 15 pulls, you win it. To win all 9 numbers must be called. I think the more numbers called the less the payout was. We are playing near the front of the room.

My buddy is playing. On the 7th number he looks down and has 3 across the top.... he slams his hand on the table loudly and lets out a booming... BINGO.....

The bingo caller, doesn't even look up, and says "Sir you must get all the numbers.... 73" without missing a beat... our whole table busts out laughing at the guy.... to this day in random situations we will just slam our hand on the table and say BINGO...

The wife and her three sisters play the Super Bingo at the Plaza a couple of times a year. They have all won 2-3,000 using the electronic machines. They have multiple wins and have a great time as the Super Bingo is a great deal until you start buying all the add ons. The have a good time and that is most important plus they love downtown.

My wife played a few times on a cruise recently and won $200 the first day. Her friend won $200 another day. In all she sunk $60 into 3 days play to get that $200. The best part was the ship had a rule whereby if the cover all was not won earlier, the last bingo session went until somebody filled all the numbers on his/her card. The payoff then was something like $1600.

Well, here is how the bingo game turned out.

On Tues., last week, we were at the Plaza downtown for the 1pm session. I had an ACG coupon, buy one small rainbow, get one free and I added the Bonanza at the end for another dollar. So, it was $21 for the session.... cheap gambling for an hour, used the machines. They call numbers quickly, so if you are a rookie, that seems to be the way to go. I could never keep up on paper!

Both my friend & I were 1 away twice during the session, but no winning cards for us :(

They had free fountain pop and water ... serve yourself. We felt like it was a nice diversion from the slots.
