We are booked in the Forum tower. I love the color purple that I see in the photos, The shower looks amazing and the in mirror TV seems like something I want to see.

But the Augustus Tower overlooking the Fountains would be cool too. Should I even try the $20 trick? I'm afraid I get upgraded and would have been happier with the purple room. Can anyone give an opinion who has stayed at both? Is there anything other than the view that is WOW in the Augustus tower?

Why not give it a try and then go check out the room if you get upgraded. If you don't like it, slink back to the lobby to another boothling far away from the first boothling, and get a room change again. I know, this sounds less than optimal...

Hopefully someone can share some information about the rooms so you can compare.

Two trips ago we were booked into the "Palace Tower" and did the $20 trick, got us up in the Augustus Tower. Not saying it's going to work, but it's certainly worth a try I think. Worse case scenario is you're a little embarrassed and you get the same room you originally booked.

The bathrooms in the Forum Tower room are nothing special.

An Augustus Tower room will have a larger main room and larger bathroom. it's definitely worth trying for $20 if you're so inclined.

The main advantage the Forum Tower has is that it empties straight into the casino.

Augustus rooms are newer & bigger. It's a shorter walk to the strip. Here's a few pics from our Augustus Tower room. 76.jpg 77.jpg 78.jpg 79.jpg

Thank you for everyone's opinion. Im not nervous or worried about using the trick....if they turn me down ooh well. I'm worried I try it and don't like the room as much as I would the Forum tower...weird I know. But the Forum tower looks so cool. <---I'm a dork yes.

It's worked for me the past two times I tried it at Caesar's - go for it! Think of it as your first gamble in Vegas.

Give it a go and don't worry if you don't get the upgrade, the Forum Tower rooms are quite nice. It's been a couple of years since I stayed in one, but I was pleased.
My room looked just exactly like the pics online.
    Enjoy!

I searched YouTube and there was a video (about 2-3 years old) that gave a brief overview of the rooms.
It is one of the reasons we requested the Augustus room.
The two biggest reasons were due to the view and strip access.

The one time I booked Forum, I was upgraded to Palace at check in without asking. There are some advantages location wise to Forum but just for the extra space and the bathtub I would rather have Palace or better.

Another note, three years ago, Octavius had just opened. I booked a Roman Tower room for 6 nights. And without even $20 and without even me asking, they upgraded me to Octavius Tower room for all 6 nights. It was a nice gesture given I had no significant status with CET.

So, I'd say keep your $20 even if you'd like an upgrade ;) It's a huge hotel and I'm sure every tower has lots of availability at all times.

When do you check in? I'd just ask. CET employees can't solicit for tips but can accept them after performing a service for you so you might actually have less luck showing the money up front.

If they can they will do it. These rooms get shuffled around dozens of times a day for requests like this so it's common practice.

Have stayed in Forum, Palace & Octavius Towers. All rooms have a pretty good trek to the strip--really my only complaint about Caesars.
Forum Tower is fine, nothing special.
Palace & Octavius were luxurious rooms.
The $20 OFTEN works at Caesars, so I recommend you trying it. We have been offered an upgrade for free or a small nightly fee every time we have checked in. We didn't take the $20/nt from Forum to Palace and I wish we had--it is that much nicer. (I wanted to see the Forum Tower so I could be an informed reviewer on Vegas boards).
I just upgraded us from Ballys Indigo Tower to Caesars Forum Tower for our summer trip. I actually prefer the location of Ballys BUT now you can hear Drais from the Indigo Tower AND the Jubilee Tower north facing rooms, as well as Chateau from the Jubilee Tower south facing rooms(earplugs, pillow over my ears, could still hear the bass as well as whenever the DJ shouted at the crowd--and we are not early to bed people! Never again...) At least Caesars is quiet!
And I will DEFINITELY try that $20 trick! (oh, BTW, mentioning it is your bday or anniversary usually scores upgrades--but they do note it in your account, so don't think you can try the "anniversary" excuse every time, unless you use different hotel companies!)

You'd have got that upgrade just by asking nicely if it did work. Trust me. CET staff can and do get written up for accepting tips for services in advance on doing them so the tip is just a bonus.

Plus - front desk agents make hundreds in commission from upgrading people to suites. It's not worth them getting in trouble for soliciting.

I'm not saying I use it (I only have once--worked VERY well from Forum to Octavius; but we were upgraded from Forum to Palace suite once w/o tip, too)--just that it has a very high success rate.
To me it isn't a solicitation, but a gesture of thanks.

CET is broke, they'll take any offer for an upgrade to an empty room. Book the best comped room you can and then offer them $10/nt for the upgrade you want.
