Should I get a host?

I'm not a High Roller but I would say I budget to loose $2000-3500 on my trips to Vegas. Should I be asking for a host? I get my comp rooms already from Mlife, should I be getting more from my trips? I'm still a newbie but I'm there for a good time and like to be treated right. Can anyone give me some better advice as to get more out of my trip?

Everyone has a different answer.

I say 5 figures min for a 3-4 day trip.

 

3-4 days, for the bank roll. thats just gambling money not including eating, clubs and spa for the wife.

 

What do you play? How much do you bet? How long do you play?

 

I see you've met the VMB Welcome Wagon! Though I suppose he's right for the most part. On the Strip $2,000-$3,500 isn't gonna set-off alarms, perhaps if you're primarily a slot player at a smaller property it'd be worth a shot.

 

I play mostly BJ and the wife will play slots (with her $ but joint Mlife card) I play mostly $25/hand for stretches of 2-3hrs between meals and longer stretches late night. no big deal with or with a host i just want to know if I'm missing out or not.

 

I think it would also be worth mentioning what property you stay. Bit of a difference between Excalibur and Aria.

I think at Mirage you might be right on the cusp. I say go for it, the worst they can say is no.

 

Nevermind. I just saw you said you play $25 a hand. I wouldn't waste your time. Just have fun!

 

FYI if/when you hit $100/hand,

then it would be worth your while to seek out a host.

 

I typically lose around 3-4k per 3 or 4 night trip. My host gets me an upgraded room which is a little larger with floor to ceiling windows and a view of the Bellagio fountains. They tend to get you an upgraded room from what you can get online.

 

No host needed. Just check out at front desk and ask them to run your MLife card to see if they can take off any room charges. For example, last year at the Bellagio, they took off around $60 of pool drink off our bill. I play at most casinos up and down the strip so my comps could be better if I stay put at one place. I'm not a high roller. My play at the B was a few hours of low limit BJ, Paigow and some slots.

 

^^^^ Exactly my experience, last trip at Bally's avg. bet (BJ and craps) was $99 (4-5 hours per day), I had a host contact me after the trip telling me he had been assigned as my host. That was the first time my avg was that high.

 

My bankroll is less than that for three days, and the Wynn assigned me a host a few years ago...I go 3-4 times and year. 3 free nights in a Wynn Panoramic, $300 slot play and 2 free buffets. My host always makes my reservations. Habe been getting this for the last few years.

 

Slots are entirely different.

 

Bank roll may not be the best indicator. Theo would be a better number to compare and judge a host's interest.
