I'm staying at the Golden Nugget on my upcoming trip and first thing I want to do before I get into the damned liquor is find a little grocery where I can stock up on some snacks, bottled water, gatorade, maybe some fresh fruit, etc to nurse my hangovers in the morning. Is there any place like that in reasonable walking distance to the Nugget?

Also...recommendations on a good breakfast place would be appreciated. Country fried steak and eggs, nice toast, that sort of thing.

ABC Store has everything you need. It's about 100 ft from Golden Nugget.

Dupars at Golden Gate is awesome for breakfast.

I've seen a few recommendations for Dupars, looks good:

Do they sell fresh fruit at ABC? I need bananas to keep my potassium levels up.

I think they just opened a place on east Freemont past the Walgreen's.

And, I second Dupars. That's my first stop after I get there.

The Market on Fremont Street East is approximately 1,000 feet East from the Golden Nugget. It's got a vegetable and fruit section that Walgreen's and ABC don't have. And, prices are reasonable.

I saw small fresh mixed fruit container snacks in the chill section and there were bananas by the cash register. All the other stuff like Gatorade, juices, water, etc. are also available.

I've been trying to find a nice little up to date mini-map of the downtown area just so I have some bearings while reading the forum, if anyone knows of a good one please link it? Here's one I found, not sure how correct it is though:

Also...does anyone know if there are any shops where I could buy some shorts & a bathing suit?

You might be able to find shorts and a bathing suit on Freemont St. There is a souvenir store on the same side of the St as Binnons going towards LVB from Binnons.
There is also the Fashion Maill on the St across the St from the Wynn.
You can also go to the outlets about one or 2 stops by bus from Freemont St, there are many stores and I would think you could find shorts there.
