    Hey all,

I've got a buddy in Las Vegas who hasn't really jumped into gambling yet. Do you guys know how comps with mLife work for locals?

Rooms and Freeplay offers all the same for equal play?

    Thanks!

They are definitely not the same. Locals are treated differently. The assumption is that locals don't need rooms.

Much different. I hit Platinum last October and have received an offer a month plus a mailer to my house. My monthly offer has been 3 complimentary nights at the Mirage + $100 resort credit. My first mailer in November was $100 Food credit, which then bumped up to $150 until February and my most recent one was $200. I have never received freeplay.

edit: the mailers also include a schedule of the shows at Mirage / MGM Grand Garden Arena / Mandalay Bay Events Center for that month, with a comp for 2 tickets to any listed

I seem to remember the poster Paperposter saying that NYNY was the "locals" mlife casino and that he received the usual weekly offers of free play like you would from the typical locals place. Is your buddy interested in the strip even as a local? There are places like M Resort, GVR or Red Rock that might treat him better as a local and still be a nice upscale environment.

MGM is terrible for locals. They had me coded as a non-local for two or three years (even though I was a local). Well, someone eventually switched me to local. My comps went to 0. Caesars doesn't care either way, you get the same local or not local.

I hope this thread gets a lot of responses. We are going to go from out-of-town status to local within a year. I'll appreciate the information.
