Staying at Vdara.. still undecided if I want to play at Aria or Bellagio.
With all things considered (casino layout, table minimums, slot/VP selection, investment for future comps, walk to/from Vdara) it seems the deal breaker might come down to cocktail service.

Is there one that has notably better (and what I mean by better is FASTER) cocktail service for players?
Honestly, I'd bet it's just hit or miss but I would like to hear the thoughts of those who frequent both properties.

In my experience.. first time playing at Aria, it was amazing! Waitresses were coming around the moment I sat at any machine, It was more than I needed!! On the last visit, it was near aggravating how slow or sparse cocktail service was. I have not played at Bellagio nearly enough to have much of an opinion.

We stayed at Bellagio this past December and drink service was abysmal. We sat next to one of the lounges playing VP played for at least 45 minutes and gave up -- went upstairs to our room and made our own drinks and came back down the elevator with a man who also was bringing his own drink to the casino. The next morning the casino was not nearly as crowded and I had no problems getting a drink. Then next night it was better but still lacking. I have not been to the Aria Casino in almost 2 years but the one time we were there drink service was good.

Service at Bellagio has been slow to non-existent.

I prefer Bellagio solely because their strawberry daiquiris are huge and very tasty.

Service levels vary everywhere depending on many factors... Sometimes it will be timely, sometimes you'll wonder if they've laid off all the cocktail waitresses...

Playing craps, blackjack, and VP, I've found Aria to be far superior to Bellagio. Last time at Bellagio, craps was sporadic at best, and blackjack was practically nonexistent. At Aria, by contrast, during blackjack they were bringing me drinks faster than I could drink them, for craps, while there's sometimes a bit of a lull at first (which I attribute to fact that Aria's craps pit is down at the end of the main row, and can be quiet at times, so if it picks up it takes the waitresses a while to figure that out), it's solid as well. And for VP, if you're comfortable playing at the $1 level, Lift Bar is one of my favorite places in Vegas to play, with decent paytables for the Strip and some of the best drinks I've had.

I've had good luck at both properties recently with their cocktail service -- both at VP at the bars and on the floor playing craps and blackjack. I think the key factor to me is whether you establish a connection with your server. A good tip up front -- I usually just give $5 up front with the drink order -- has led to good results both places. I can think of one instance at each Aria and Bellagio where I got bad service over the last six trips. Smiling face, up-front tip, and that should do it. But, of course, results may vary.

ARIA had much faster drink service than Bellagio a few weeks ago but it wasn't the busiest weekend for either of them. I think the to you give controls the speed as well sometimes.

Aria is always quick and efficient. Bellagio is more of a hit or miss, at least when playing table games.

While playing at the tables, I’ve found Aria’s service to be very quick and Bellagio’s to be decent, but not spectacular. On machines, I’ve found Aria to be adequate and Bellagio to be painfully slow.

As others have mentioned, YMMV depending on several factors. But I’ve found Aria’s drink service to be consistently better than Bellagio’s.

I have had great drink service at both casinos... but I've also had utterly horrible drink service at both as well. It really is just going to be whatever it is that night that you are there.

The last two trips Aria has had some of the best drink service of anywhere we played, Bellagio was not too bad in December but October was like playing at MGM Grand, non existent.

Another vote for lousy drink service at Bellagio. I played bubble craps there for a couple hours my last trip (after midnight - the machine was packed). I didn't even see a cocktail waitress for the first hour. I had to flag down a suit and beg him to send one over. I managed one drink from a cocktail waitress who seemed annoyed that we wanted service.

I left and went to the Cromwell to play some more. The service there was awesome, even though it was 4am. The waitress came by every 10-15 minutes. I've played at the Cromwell several times since they opened and drink service has consistently been excellent. Play there if you want to get blitzed.

I played early this month on a Tuesday afternoon at Bellagio and expected little to nothing in the way of cocktail service, based on what I've read here.

However, within five minutes of sitting down (at one of the very few full-pay 25 cent video poker machines in the place, no less), we'd been offered drinks. They continued to come by, and when I moved to one of the $10 3:2 blackjack games nearby, service continued to be good. I play there quite rarely but really enjoyed it this time--they serve a generous comped G&T, in a real glass.

I think, as others have said, it's just the luck of the draw.

Full pay at Bellagio?? Where in the casino might this be?

I find service there inconsistent depending on where you hole up. Has been an area where they aren't as good in recent years. Aria; similar but better than B

Yeah full pay VP and 25c doesn't generally compute at Bellagio, as far as I know. I would definitely like to be wrong.

Maybe he is talking about triple spin poker? (max bet 135 quarters...lol)

yeah must be the triple spin machines. I play them sometimes for three lines on one game, 15 quarters. But will agree, the CW service has usually been great in that area for me.

Last August we went to the Aria to partake in a Myvegas buffet and decided to play a little after lunch. In the past service had always been spotty. This time it was rocking. I had to skip some rounds because I was full from the buffet.

I stayed at Bellagio and besides not winning ever
there, a few ladies and I played for almost 2 hours
and no service! No water, nothing! I was po'ed
and I don't play there now. Aria was better but spotty.
Best cocktail service I've had is at Paris! Downtown I was turning
em down! I agree, though to tip heavy on first
round and be polite and smile.
