The Orleans Coffee Maker

Just wonder if anyone know if The Orleans has a coffee maker in the room? If so, is it a name brand like Keurig or Tassimo?

 

It's a generic one cup type coffee maker. The type that the coffee is in a single serve pack in some sort of tray.

 

...yes leo21, and with really bad coffee. Go to the coffee place down by the front desk. Unless you bring your own coffee and just use the coffee maker.

 

I agree. It's that classic, ickitty-yuck generic hotel room coffee with the powdered creamer etc. Of course I still drank it, but then got a real one. The coffee place in the Orleans is good, staff is nice too. My kids appreciated the free wifi there too so everyone was happy.

 

Oh you coffee drinkers crack me up! Folks complain about no equipment, then when there is a coffee maker, they complain that it's not good. I half think the hotels in Vegas don't offer coffee because they it wouldn't actually satisfy anyone.

 

Leo, I think you can use the term "coffee snobs" although I cannot honestly put myself in that category.

 

I'm just wondering how often they truly wash the coffee makers. Some of them look kind've grungy.

But when out of town, I'm glad to get it. It's nice to be able to brew a cup in room. But it won't impress the coffee connoisseur, that's a given.

 

The coffee makers at the Orleans have a "disposable" tray that the single cup coffee packet sits in while it brews. There are signs saying something like "Please do not dispose of the coffee tray". I am pretty sure they are not supposed to be reused as they are really cheap plastic - sot of the quality of the lid to a styrofoam cup.

I'm good with coffee in the room.. even if it's not that great, although I don't remember it being too bad. I remember these single servings from my previous trips, I wasn't sure if they had upgraded them when they refresh a number of the "premium" rooms.

We usually start the morning with a coffee each in the room followed by a Bailey's & Coffee from the casino floor once we get ready.

 

I'm planning on bringing my own coffee along with the new liquid creamer that doesn't need refrigeration. We'll be in the air by 7:30pm today Sunday 3-1.

 

Just back early this AM from Orleans and Flamingo. Coffee in room fine. Left the cleaning staff a couple of bucks and a note and we received a few extra packages! Borrowed a couple creamers from dinner the night before and we were good to go! Felt like the complete senior taking the creamers from dinner but with no fridge, a girl has to do what a girl has to do.
Loved our stay at Orleans.......

 

(I got jumped on a few months ago for saying the in-room coffee was bleugh!) anyway..... The better coffee in The Orleans is actually in the chocolate shop right next to the elevators. Last heard they still do refills for $1 too. They also do a small selection of pasties and muffins so made for a cheap fast breakfast to nip back up to the room. Also very handy for taking coffee to the pool!.
The one near the front desk has a full range of coffee and also sells Winchells donuts.

 

I don't like to make coffee in room because the smell wakes up my wife. And I don't like to buy it at the coffee shops because the lines are usually very long in the morning. So I do the smart thing and play some black jack and I get bad coffee at the table for about $60 a cup.

Edit: Except at Silverton there I get Starbucks at the table for around $90/cup.

 

Last time I stayed at Silverton (July 2014) they switched coffee to Seattle's Best on the floor, still good but my wife was disappointed.
