    My Trip Report

Braved the late March snow (wtf seriously) and made it to Harrahs about an hour ago. Got a quick workout in and now at McCormick and Schmick having some quesadillas and a draft or two.

Nasty outside so likely will stay at Harrahs and Borgata may be in the plans to see if I got any comps for when I played with Bronco last month. Will be a LOOOONG night so give me a holler if you're around and/or can give me a quick and easy way to post pics since high limit doesn't seem to mind much here. Blackjack and perhaps some VP tonight !

Enjoy your trip and am rooting for you! The snow and rain has stopped and everything has melted.

When you go to the borgata, go to the players desk and setup a pin for your card. Then you can check all your offers and comp dollars from the kiosks. I earned around $4500 comp dollars over the 2 days last month and still have around $1200. Ended up buying the worlds most expensive iPad and 2 shirts for $800 since its a 2-1 ratio for spending.

    My wifey says hello also.

    Good luck!

Buddy, I though it was supposed to be better if you waited two weeks. You should have sticked to the original plan so you could have showed me the ropes and how to win some money there.

Well maybe, all the luck has been saving up and you can kill it while you are there. 4OAKs, jackpot slots resulting in lots of tax forms..........you can do it.

Sands, hilarious I agree as its snowing again! Up 600 now. Finally win some doubles and one of the CWs gave me a good luck kiss so perhaps that helped? Took. Break and got these stats: 4 hours 12 mins played, avg bet 80 per hand on BJ (random?). Hitting Tazza for a bagel and back to the room for a quick call to the girl. Favorite CW is done At 2 evidently so I should be back down soon. Eating at the waterfront buffet tomm since I got a comp. Need to hit Borg since they took my money and don't even have my correct address on file for offers.

Taking the Jitney to Borg in an hour. Wish me luck!! Need some black jacks. Bronco introduced me to HL there so we shall try some 100-200 hAnds- and likely. Few cocktails which my drunk butt doesn't need ( sorry for misspells ahead of time)

Got pretty buzzed too quickly but thankfully slowed it down
So I recall everything (writing on an iPhone so forgive the horrible
Grammar). Will recap everything when I get back to DC today and forgive me ahead time for the poor quality of the "live" report.
Harrahs gaming floor has atrocious internet (signal in General), which is amusing because the resort
Fees are 35 a night now for "free wifi". Unbelievable.

Ended up down 800 total from the Borgata BJ. 2 hours 18 mins at 150 per hand. 44 comp dollars generated- does that seem off
To anyone else comp wise for those of you who play at the Borgata? This is my second time there so that's why I ask. Going to the boardwalk now since the Taj has free parking and I need to check out of Harrahs.

Hope you enjoyed your trip. We really did and will probably plan another trip hopefully without the losing next time.

Alright, well I'm back home now and can give a write up on my failed attempt at a live TR. Not sure if anyone is reading this but if so, and if you remember a TR written by another member (I believe it was CVG2LAS, if not I apologize for the mistake) but I ended with a similar situation, on a much smaller scale however, but nonetheless a loss that just made me feel like crap this time (even though most losses do, this one was icing on the cake I believe)

Long story short, I ended up losing around 2k at the Borgata (after a smaller loss at Caesars earlier in the day) in quick fashion. My game is blackjack, and I played an eclectic mix of bets but I'll summarize my feelings on leaving. This was the first time I actually regretted gambling. Can I take the hit? Yes, thankfully. However, I literally got atrocious cards a good 80-85% of the time, at multiple casinos, at multiple tables, etc (you get the idea).

My last few trips have been going the same way, whether I hit AC, Vegas or the Horseshoe in Baltimore and honestly, it's beginning to take the fun away from gambling. I gamble not expecting to win all kinds of money (though that would be nice), I just would like to have a good time, knowing there's ups and downs, but after 4-5 trips in a row it would be nice to at least break even, lest I win a few dollars. I've been starting from behind almost immediately the past 5 trips or so and have constantly had to "fight" if you will to stay even. Whenever I would raise my bets to around 200 per hand (which for me is a lot at least) I would always lose and lose bad (14 v a Blackjack for example), and never got that feeling of finally winning a couple of hands in a row or a shoe here and there. Honestly, it seems to have been a few years since I've had a modest win and the consistent losing is taking the fun away.

Of course now I begin to get all kinds of goodies from CET and my new friends at the Borgata (who evidently will give me a room any day of the week, including Fri and Sat from now till like June, food and other enticements). The atmosphere inside the Borgata was like a real Vegas casino which enticed me to play there, and the energy was awesome, but at the end of the day while driving home to DC (3 hours and change gives you some time to really think let me tell ya), this really felt like a mistake even going.

I'm sure a lot of people hit this point at some point and I think I'll just take a while off from playing since it's been a constant lose-fest for a while now. Not sure if there's a frame of mind that anyone could lend me to borrow to make me feel better (not looking for sympathy so hopefully it doesn't come across that way!). I think ultimately, it's just frustrating losing constantly and not just the losing, but the losing in a very quick fashion. It was almost comical how many hard 14s, 15s and 16s v Aces and 10s I faced (and I did break every time too for good measure). I think the feeling of "what the hell am I doing here" really set in as I was stuck in traffic on I95 south. If I'm going to lose money, that's fine but it would be nice for it to last at least a short while. If I'm going to bring a few thousand and play $50 per hand in blackjack, I would hope it would last at least a few hours. The thought of gambling, frankly, now is antithetical to anything I want to do with and it's frustrating to say the least. I took out more money and chased at the Borgata so perhaps that's why I'm more upset than I would have otherwise been, but the familiar "it all happened so quick" in practice really is a painful pill to swallow.

I do have pictures to load, a random assortment of things I had never taken pics of before but as it was sunny I wanted to make this TR at least somewhat-worth reading. Appreciate any of those who took a glance and hope your next experience whether in Vegas, AC or wherever is better than mine!

Sorry about your bad luck. A string of bottom 10% results definitely put a dampers on things. I get the "question" thing in my head too when that happens. Unfortunately this is just part of playing a -EV game at times. What's even more of a bummer...blackjack is one of the least swingy games out there. But it can still have a hell of a cold streak!

Think about a slot or DDB VP player. Bunch of losses with sporadic big hits.

But if you feel like this...then I would definitely try to take a "break" or scale back your playing. The longer time goes, the more I seem to forget the most recent ass beating...

I've had a similar string of losing trips. Faced the same long drive home. I would put the loss in terms of other things I could spent on. There goes a trip to Hawaii. I eventually went less frequently. There is no getting around bad luck.

I think reading TRs here can lead you to think we win all the time. This is an anonymous Internet forum. Almost everyone is a long term loser. Those that claim otherwise don't want to remember their losses.

Tbh $50 bj on just a few thousand is 60ish betting units. It isn't a lot. If you press bets that reduces your length of play even more. 2 years ago I blew $3k on $5-10 bj over 3 days.
