Anyone stayed there? How is it? Any other places to consider?

We'll be driving a 30 foot motor home through Las Vegas sometime in early May. Never traveled by RV before, so we have no experience with RV parks. I figure we'll spend a couple of days in Vegas. Looking at options I see that Circus Circus has closed their RV park and that KOA is now managing the Sam's Town one. I don't see any other choices that would allow us to get to downtown/strip fairly easily while there. Thoughts/experiences? Thanks!

Main Street Station has an RV park with full hook-ups and a laundry facility. You can get your downtown stay in, and it's easy to get to the Strip via bus or cab from downtown.

Several weeks ago, I had a look at the KOA at Sams Town. Like most RV parks, some tight spaces. Didn't pick up a brochure but manager stated the prices
and they seemed to be 1/2 the normal price at other KOAs. He said I could go online to see things. Seemed easy to enter and exit. Good food at casino.

    VivaLasVegas, jbee,

Thanks for the info. I called Main Street Station because there's absolutely no info about their RV park online. The reservations woman said it's because it only holds about 90 RVs and they rely on word of mouth. It's a bargain at $14/night after May 1st. The Sam's Town RV park has a lot more amenities but costs a lot more too. Since we usually stay and play downtown I suspect we'll go to Main Street, or maybe do one night at each place.

I've stayed in the MSS RV park a few times. It's basic and has a laundry and they have security. I'm not bothered by the walk in the daytime. At night I'm cautious. Fortunately it has still been light and hubby has been with me. I think security will escort you back. I'd grab a cab if you're late at night.

Sams Town's RV Park looks good. it is next to Sams Town on one side and Eastside Cannery on the other. There is a Walmart right across the road for supplies. It has a small shady pool area. We were sat around there in February as Sam's Town's pool was closed for repair and were talking to someone who had their RV there and they said they liked it.
Going along Boulder fron Sams Tow there are 2 or 3 other RV parks as well

A lot of the rv forums recommend Oasis rv park. It doesn't have a casino, but looks like an easy walk to bus service, which would get you there. Just another possibility.

Good luck and let us know where you went and how it all worked out for you.

Thanks for the input. I'll look into the Oasis. Our trip begins a month from today. I'm hoping gas prices are headed back down between now and then!
