    Hey All,

Two questions (maybe this should be two different threads but I don't want to clutter the board) about comps:

    1) I regularly get 2 weeknights free at The D downtown. Does anyone who play there know if I can ask someone for either 1 free weekend night or at least a great rate on one weekend night?

    2) I am considering jumping from downtown play to MLife, assuming I commit to a bigger bankroll. How many tier credits (play VP games mostly and dabble in slots) would I need to earn to at least get cheap rooms at MLife? I figure I should start just paying a little more to get the rooms I want.

    Thanks for the help.

RE #2, what level of VP and slots do you play at, for how long, and while less important how much is your bank roll? If you're playing slots you'll get rooms faster at almost any casino because of the higher HA than VP. That being said, however, if you're playing like 4-5 hours of VP at $1 then you'll probably qualify for some rooms at lower end properties and possibly the grand. When I gave MLife action last (which hasn't been for two years), I played 20 hours over a 3 day span (which I consider a lot) of blackjack at a rate of $75 per hand and I got some Sun-TH at the Grand but nothing for weekends, no free play and nothing else. CET gives much better deals on upfront room comps, but MLife has better rooms for the most part, is better at buffet comps and that stuff. Really depends what you're playing at level wise and how much (as well as if it's more VP than slots or the other way around as Slots generate more in comps).

Two weeknights free at the D isn't much. You would probably need to step your play up several times to get pearl or gold level at mLife. I am Platinum mLife and down get free weekend nights (often).

You can get cheap rooms at mLife at Pearl level, but IMHO you'd need to:

1)play at one casino. mLife is tougher on "butterflies" than CET
2)to get to Pearl level from zero it's Pearl 25,000 Tier Credits = $8,333 in slot action, $25,000 in VP action

Gold is 75000 TC, Platinum is 200,000 TC. (corrected by stackinchips. Thank you)

I am "preferred" at the D (4 nights anytime in a month, FB and slot play every month). I am also mLife Platinum. I stay at the D when I'm traveling alone or my activities are downtown-centric. I stay at mLife or CET properties on the strip when I have "company".

I wouldn't increase my bankroll "just" to get room comps on the strip. What I am finding out is that CET is much easier to get room comps.

Yeah, I'm probably out of range then even if I committed to triple my play (about all I could do). I got 600 points on VP at the D which would equal the same TCs for mLife. Sounds like I couldn't get anything off even 2,000 points and I realistically wouldn't go past that.

What sort of mlife hotel are you looking at? In my opinion, that's the real question. To get cheap rooms at Aria or Bellagio is going to require a significant amount of additional play. To get cheap rooms at Luxor or Excalibur, not so much. And as crappy as Luxor can be, I still think it's nicer than the lower-end CET joints.

Yeah, I guess that is the question, but I sounds like I can't expect much even at my level of play. Anyone here play at Luxor and get somewhere between 500 and 1000 tier credits per visit? That's what my current play level would bring. Anything come out of that play?

That sounds like one hour of 25c VP (aka $1.25 per spin) -- which would be 750 TC. Per VISIT? That's an expected loss of around $4. Are you sure you've done the math right? Four hours of that per day (not one hour per trip) would be 3k TC per day, which should get you discounted rooms at Luxor or Excalibur (or Circus), perhaps something like one free night plus two discounted nights.

If you're looking to stay at an mLife property, definitely check out myVegas ... a little bit of Facebooking each day and it's easy to get a buffet pass.

I guess I spent more at The D than what I thought. I get 3 nights without any restrictions. Going to use them on my next stay, and might use the next 3 in June.

I'd hit up a host to see if they can do anything for ya. If you need the name of one, let me know, and I can give you mine. Just started working with her, but so far so good.
