I know some of the differences. And I have stayed at Aria. Thought the location was very good. Hotel nice. Casino very nice. But I tend to like to try different hotels. I have stayed at 5-10 different ones over the years. But I think I got a good deal at Aria basic room for $79 a night X 3 nights.

I think both Aria and Vdara were built around the same time?

Is Vdara quite nice? Main thing is quieter? due to no casino floor?

Or should I go off somewhere else? off strip that has a nice hotel? I have a car.

    Thanks

    Loaded questions-sorry

Vdara is excellent... almost a clone of Aria in terms of room style and layout. Much quieter due to no casino and the building is completely non-smoking. The suite rooms come with full kitchen so extended stays are a real pleasure. Hotel provides china and silverware for the asking. The lobby bar is adequate, though you will want to use Aria / Cosmo / Bellagio for restaurants and gaming...good new is that each is a very short walk away. Vdara might be a whole 100 yards from Aria's west entrance/valet, with Bellagio a 5min walk via footbridge and Cosmo a 5min walk via sidewalk.

Thanks! Thinking I should try something new. And it's always nice to have a fridge imo. Have to see what deals I can get.

I've stayed at Vdara a couple of times (deluxe and panoramic suites) and Aria once (deluxe room). If you want a bit more space, you could spend a little bit more at Vdara and get a nice suite vs. the next step-up at Aria is the Corner suite, and that's a bit of a step in price.

    Pros:
-Usually cheaper than Aria, but you're so close its almost like you're staying at Aria.
-Every room has a kitchen. A fridge you can actually use is always a plus.
-Every suite (except for the deluxe) has a washer/dryer.
-Never had issues with noise, fairly quiet, and completely smoke-free.

    Cons:
-Decent walk to the strip since you're walking through Bellagio or Aria.
-Not much on site in terms of food. There's the Market and Starbucks. Aria is like a 5 minute walk tops.
-No bedside remote (whether that matters to you or not... hah).

You really can't go wrong with a stay at Vdara.

Personally, I would probably just book directly with Vdara/Mlife. Check smartervegas.com for some deals.

I think one of the drawbacks of using a property management company is that you don't get daily housekeeping (might be every 3 days?).

Yeah and just other hassles that may come up. I've looked in the past lol but get last minute jitters. Then book directly.

I'll keep looking at that site. Still a few months away. End of May.

    Thanks for the help.

Hmm do you think vdara would match the prices of my current booking at aria? Considering there same owners?

Vdara is very nice, good happy hour at the bar. We stayed in a 2 bedroom hospitality suite was very nice. The furniture was not very cozy in the living room, but we were not there too long ! You can't go wrong if you want peace and quiet.

Stick to booking directly. Stayed at Vdara a couple years ago through Hotwire's name your own price tool. I was ready to do it again on my last trip, until I noticed it's routed through 3rd party brokers now, meaning your point of contact isn't direct. Read through reviews on Hotwire, Priceline, etc. and they all mentioned similar issues...check in time problems, house keeping, and sometimes room quality/condition. Not worth the gamble just to save a few dollars.

It's already been covered, but the Vdara rooms are very similar to Aria, with the addition of the full kitchen. I didn't touch it at all though since it was a short stay. Walking time to Aria and Bellagio is minimal (same as crossing a casino). If the kitchen and low key atmosphere matter to you, then give it a shot.

I really loved my stay at the Vdara. Loved having the full fridge and the Keurig. It wasn't at all inconvenient getting to other properties. I stayed in the city view suite. Very nice, quiet. I also think you get more room for your money at the Vdara.

Love Vdara, as well. It is basically just like staying at the Aria ... with a five-minute walk into the casino. It's super easy. Nice cab line. And easy access to Bellagio. The location is fantastic. It was built at the same time as Aria, and, as mentioned, the rooms are very similar. A lot of technology, large spaces -- 582 square feet at least. One thing I love about it is that you can often get killer deals on the suites (penthouse, loft, etc.). I recommend it, particularly if you like Aria and just want to try something new.

It is quieter because of not having a casino, but I feel like it's an oasis in the madness. The lobby bar is getting a revamp that should improve it a lot. The fridge in the room is key. The non-smoking is nice. Just a really solid property with a lot of pluses. Well worth checking out.

Echo all sentiments mentioned in this thread. Will also add they are very upgrade friendly. I've had success simply asking for upgrades, food/bed credit, etc. I'll also hold a special place for Vdara which is explained by a quick story.

I booked a night at Aria through Visa Signature hotel program. When booking this way you have access to certain benefits: food/bev credit, expedited check in, late check out and some others. Upon check in they didn't recognize these benefits. I talked to a "supervisor" who also didn't see any record of these benefits. My stay was one night so rather than waste an hour or two complaining I said forget it and enjoyed my stay.

Fast forward a week or so. I get a call from the GM, who sincerely apologizes for the oversight. It turns out due to a clerical error my benefits weren't noted. He comped my entire night, taxes and all. I was floored and inu tater shock that they would go above and beyond this way. He also left me his direct number and anytime since when I'm in the area and want a stay at Vdara or Aria he completely hooks it up.

One of the best customer service experiences I have ever had.

I just booked 6 nights here next month, 3 through myvegas and 3 through the regular website. I am really looking forward to a few days being in Vegas with no obligation to gamble anywhere in particular. I just booked a standard room (deluxe suite I guess?) but I would love access to a washer/dryer as this will be week 2 of a longer trip. Does anyone know if they have a laundry room onsite or should I try to get an upgraded suite? I don't mind paying a bit more, but don't want to go nuts, and I am also not sure if there is even an option to upgrade a myvegas room.
