    Hi all,

I would like your opinions on what comps you think I would get for my current level of play with mlife. I stay at the Mirage, Bellagio and Mandalay Bay. I have a host at these casinos and get comps on every trip. I have listed my typical play below per trip and was wondering if you could give me some input to what you expect a host would offer me in 3 areas for a 7 day trip - room type, f&b and free play - so I can compare what I'm currently getting to see if I should be getting more or less comps. I always get free limo to and from the airport and tickets to any shows I ask for.

I play mainly slots with some blackjack and roulette play. On a 7 day stay I generate around 400k tier credits from gaming alone and I'm platinum level. I play around 8 hours a day on slots (coin in approx $50k per day) and maybe an hour a day Bj at $25 per hand/roulette $150 a spin on euro roulette outer bets.

The calculation of 33 tier credits equals $1.00 of theo has been my experience. So your theo on 400,000 tier credits would be $12.,121. As far as what that translates into as comp dollars I would guess somewhere between 30 and 40%. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can clarify that.

12k theo is solid but over 7 days.

That's only 700 comps available per day.

So you're looking at a smaller suite (Bellagio suite or penthouse/marquee suite at MGM), RFB300 and I would guess 2-3k in FP.

That sounds right. Last trip I had 30750 theo and just over 1M TCs.

Your TCs don't really match up well with your estimated coin in of $50,000 a day.

If you're playing slots (not VP), and you're not playing a lot of specialty machines,
    $50,000 / $3/base point = 16,666 base points/day = 166,660 Tier Credits a day.

If you're doing $50k day on slots, your theo is going to be upwards of $4,000 - $5,000 a day, and your actual is likely to be 1.5 - 2x that.

I've never seen anybody post a calculation of how they figure their F&B and Freeplay is calculated off their theo, so I can't speak to that.

But let's just say you should be getting plenty.

I estimated a little more in comps (about $1000 a day as opposed to $700). So your comps for room, food and bev should be around that total each day.

What's your budgeted loss per day and what's your credit line?

That a huge factor at this play level. The casino wants to know how much you are "putting at risk"

Really? I'm not sure the OP's level of play is so high that the CL is coming in to play in determining his comps. He is only generating about 57k in TC per day. Its more than a lot of folks, but there are plenty of gamblers that generate that much in each session they play per day. I always thought CL comes in to play when you're talking about upfront event invites, not so much the level of RFB

    I would guess he's about a 20k player.

And at that level the CL doesn't really come into play.

What level does it come into play? I have heard that it takes a 100k CL to get invites to certain events, but it really has to be higher to influence comps in a significant way. What's the dividing line?

I've talked to a NOIR player who has a 20k CL. He said that's the starting point for being a "bigger player". He also said his buddy, who has a 30k CL, is treated even better (anything he wants). He plays and stays at ARIA.

If you're getting "anything you want" at 30k,

    you're not asking for much.

Actually the bigger events are usually based on trip loss.

100k single trip loss in the last 12 months to get an invite.

They also usually have a level for single trip win. 400k single trip win gets you invited to a bunch of stuff because they want you to lose it back.

CL comes into play mostly for suites and villas on bigger weekends.

But again actually losses play a big part also.

Do you play to that level on a consistent basis.

    Hi all,

Thanks for all your comments. Your figures are actually pretty accurate - you guys are good! I get approx $1k a day in comps spread over all types - so I guess my comps I'm getting are pretty much spot on I.e. I am going back to vegas soon for 10 days and total comp value is around $10k

I don't have a CL and don't need one. I wire over between $10k - $20k per trip depending how long I stay. On my next trip I am staying in a penthouse suite for the 10 days fully comp along with $2k f&b and $2k freeplay. I will also have a limo to and from the airport, and probably 3 pairs of comp tickets for any mlife shows.

Does anyone think I should be getting more than this for my level of play? I have also increased my level of play each time I have visited. Finally thinking about staying at aria soon. Has anyone got a good host they can give me the details for? And what is their best suite I could get for my level of play?

Heres what I've done in the past and our situation is similar. I'm 95% Bellagio but wanted to try Aria and Wynn for a few days. All you have to do is call each place and speak to a slot host. Give them your players card number and tell them what you're already being offered/provided however, you wanted to visit their property. They'll, in my experience, match it for you. Do know that if you do this with an MGM property, your host at your 'home' property will know when you contact them later. My host told me that when I do this, to contact him first so he can do some computer things in order for it to not affect my FP and the Bellagio.

    It'll work -good luck!

There's no way that's correct. At least not at the nicer properties (because I remember what I received when my CL was at that level). Maybe if you have a 30k line at Excalibur. Your buddy might be the biggest player there. I think you're friend is either exaggerating what he gets or actually plays a lot bigger than he is letting on

Thanks, that's about what I thought. Although I hadn't considered a big win getting you special invites back (but it makes perfect sense). At mgm tournaments, I have seen the fine print in the rules that basically says the big six figure losers during the year automatically qualify for the semifinals

Let me clarify - his credit line is 30k and he gambles in a way that most of the 30k could be gone at the end of the trip. He doesn't set up the CL for show. So essentially, they comp him x% of his 30k each trip.

10% of actual loss is all you're gonna get.

Not much at the 30k level.
