Any way to save on a Mandalay Bay shark dive?

Do any of the experts on here know a way to get a deal on the Mandalay Bay shark dive? My wife and I are planning to visit Vegas this winter (anytime between say now and April), and the shark dive is very interesting to us. Problem is, the cost is very high. In fact, we've found deals that would mean the flights + hotel are around the same cost as this single 1-hour dive...

So you can imagine I'm looking for some way to reduce that cost. I'm thinking the closest I can come is to try and find a resort credit and put that against it, but if anyone has any other ideas, we'd love to hear them. Naturally, I'd register for m-life and try and charge it to the room so at least it'll get us some loyalty, but if there are any other ways to get it cheaper, or increase the benefits to us, I'm all ears.

Never seen any discounts for the Shark Reef encounters. Sounds interesting, though. Good luck

I did the shark feeding in September. I was very happy with the experience and thought it was a good value. I'd like to do the shark dive but I only have to pay for one. My husband isn't interested. Maybe call casino marketing, see if they can throw you a bone? You might have to offset the cost by dropping your budget in other areas like food etc. Make use of coupons, groupons, Restaurant.com, myvegas, whatever because I don't think you'll get the price of the dive down.

Not to be a wet blanket, but I doubt casino marketing will help. The OP isn't even an mlife member. I cannot see them dropping the price for someone that has never given them any play. But the other advice on saving money in other areas is great advice and probably the way to go

UK, I'm not comped. But, I book my hotel directly and they can usually throw me some kind of marketing offer, sometimes better than the emails sent out, and certainly better than I deserve. Usually a reduction in room rate and maybe a few meals and/or a few drinks. The OP needs to get on their radar for sure, join mlife, sign up for emails whatever. They might get some kind of new guest deal. Price reduction on the actual shark dive...........um......very unlikely. As the magic 8 ball says, signs point to no.

That (Dive with the Sharks at Shark Reef) mLife moment is for Gold level. IMHO, I doubt that they would cut the OP a break.

Thanks for the ideas, I'll have to give it a shot. I'll get on their mlife and email lists and see how it goes. I've been playing myvegas a bit too, but that won't help for this. I could play the angle that I'd like to do everything in one place and see what they say.

Also thanks for the comments on the feeding, we'd likely do either the shark feeding or the turtle feeding as well, it's too bad they don't have a package deal for all this stuff... Maybe if I ask nice they'd throw in a free or discounted shark feeding :) Never hurts to ask.

$650 for one, but since my wife and I would do it together it's $1000 for the two of us.

lol, I'd go for this deal in a heartbeat. Make it a 3 tank dive, and I'll clean the glass for the first two!

If the dive is in the big tank (it must have 50 or 60 large sharks in it) then I'd say it's well worth the asking price. I might do it myself next time actually.

I told my host to set me up next trip.

I'll let you know how it is.

They say it's in the shipwreck tank. Not sure if that's the big one?

That's the big one. But I don't think it has 60 sharks in it. I did the shark feeding at the same tank last year. I think there were about 25 sharks in that tank
