Was going to stay at Wynn but booked Encore instead. Not sure if there's any big difference though from my research.

    Yes they're different.

Encore is more laid back. Newer and more spacious rooms. Casino is smaller and less busy.

Wynn has the hotter casino vibe.

You can play at either property, but it's a 5 min or so walk between them.

I feel like I've said this a lot lately ... Shifter is dead on. I love the laid back, smaller casino at Encore. It's such a luxurious vibe. Really hard to go wrong with either, although, I must say, I prefer the base room at Encore to Wynn.

Wynn's casino has a lot more energy. Encore's is usually very quiet other than at peak hours. Wynn also seems to have many more VP games with good paytables and fewer 6:5 BJ tables (as a percentage of total BJ tables).

The (standard) rooms at Encore are a little larger and set up like a suite (though not a true suite with two separate rooms that can be completely closed off from each other). South facing rooms at Encore can get some bass from the club even on high floors (but some very nice views) until the wee hours.

They're my two favorite properties in Vegas so IMO you really can't go wrong.

Yes but if staying at Encore you can use Wynns pools as well. I prefer Encore's pool area, rooms and spa over Wynns. As other have said Wynns casino is much bigger while Encore side is more laid back.

Thank you all! I'll probably post more questions as in to what to eat, bars to check out in these casinos but I'll probably wander to throughout the strip for other things. (I'm just new to this hotel, stayed at other Vegas hotels before)

They're both so close together and share amenities - so I'll express my opinion that if you stay at one you're pretty much staying at the other. My wife and I love both and just see them as parts of the same big hotel. Combined, they're still smaller than some of the mega resorts.

I've stayed at both Wynn and Encore, in the basic rooms. Personally I prefer Encore's rooms but I prefer gambling at Wynn. I also like to walk back from the Wynn casino to Encore at the end of the night. I also prefer Encore's Society Cafe over Terrace Pointe Cafe. But I would stay at Wynn in a minute.

I prefer Wynn. The Encore "suites" aren't really suites, and IMO the half-hearted attempt to make their regular rooms into "suites" by placing a divider in the middle of the room actually makes it feel smaller than a standard room at Wynn. They were too cheap to spend the extra ~$800 per room on a TV for the "living room," so the TV swivels 360 degrees for viewing from either the bedroom or the living room (which isn't awesome if you have someone with you). Strip views are far better from Wynn, and if you intend to visit the Buffet, it's about a 1 minute walk from the Wynn elevators vs. a 6+ minute walk from Encore. Gambling at Wynn is also much more fun. The Encore casino is small by comparison, and has far less energy. Most of the good restaurants (arguably) are also at Wynn. If you make the walk at night, you'll be treated to the massive college campus crowd awaiting entry into XS, which is about in the middle of the path between the two. Finally, if you like blackjack, most of the games at Encore are worse (6:5, 8 decks, etc) than at Wynn.

So, if you're into annoyingly long walks, low-energy casinos with bad odds, and staying in what feels like a cramped room, then Encore is for you. Otherwise, it's Wynn.

Walks aren't annoying if you like to walk. But I agree that the club kids are really annoying.

I'm just going to bump this thread rather then starting a new one. I have a couple more questions but here's two things that I got so far from the research on the differences.

    A) The casinos are different vibe. (Wynn - energy, Encore - laid back/smaller/crappier BJ table aka go to Wynn to play)
    B) Longer walks at Encore to the strip and worser view of the Strip because Wynn is blocking it, but I do get the view of the golf course? (Yay...)

While the majority of the reviews I've read has been great, I was wondering a couple things. One is the concern for loud thumping sounds in the early AMs that can be heard from floors 1-50. Possible? Granted, I don't think I'm there the days XS are opened (Sun-Tues) so that might not even be an issue. Another thing is the plays. If I'm thinking of gambling ~400-600 should I even bother playing here? I've heard it's hard to earn anything and while I'm not a High Roller, I still like to get points for my plays. I might as well just walk the strip and go on over the Casino Royale to play or my preferred casino Monte Carlo (where I've had extremely good luck).

One more thing, how boss is Sinatra restaurant? Looks like the majority of VMB goes there every trip. Fine italian cuisine is good and all, but would it break my bank? Looking for a nice dinner @ 150-200/2people.

    Thanks!

If you get 500 points on your Red Card, you can play in the daily slot tournament that is happening between now and May 31. It doesn't take that much money to get 500 points and they pay $1500 for first place as well as prizes for each session winner.

We stay on the Wynn side in the Tower Suites with a golf course view......no noise from the clubs ever as we are at the far end of the Wynncore complex.

My favorite restaurants are SW Steakhouse, Tableau and Society Café. I like Sinatra and we eat there every third time or so......the décor is beautiful and who doesn't love hearing Sinatra music while they eat dinner. You could easily do Sinatra on $200 for 2 if you're not having a bottle of wine. A couple of Sinatra Smashes, appetizers, main course and maybe dessert would hit the $200 mark.

Wynncore tries really hard to get gamblers in the door, so you would probably get an offer for 2 or 3 free nights in a resort room in a few months after you play. If you sign up on line for the Wynn Insider, you will definitely get reduced room rate offers.

I don't think you can compare Wynncore to either Casino Royale or Monte Carlo........you're comparing a 5 star hotel complex to a couple of 2 star hotels.

Haha, don't get me wrong, I never stay at Casino Royale or Monte Carlo (not like there's anything wrong with them at all!) That's just where I play since I'm a low roller and I don't feel out of place as oppose to say somebody sitting down and buying in 1k on the seat next to me. I love staying at the higher end hotel ie: Aria, Cosmo, and Palazzio has been last residencies when visiting, but this will be my first time at Wynn/Encore. I just like going to the 2* hotels to play because I feel like I fit in more at times.

I have actually already reserved Encore rooms for 2 nights that's nonfundable via Wynn Insider. When/if I do give them my play, is there a card I have to sign up for that'll get me the points? (I've only used mLife card thus far)

Oh one more question, do anyone know why Encore costs a little bit more when I was making my reservations? It was like $20-30 more then Wynn but I figured that was because it's I can use both pools.... but seems like its the same hotels in the end in terms of rooms and service.

I used to play at Casino Royale too (when we were staying at Wynncore) as I loved cashing those coupons for 4 of a kinds. This trip, my DH will be stopping in the White Castle that has opened....so I'm sure we'll be playing there too.

When you first get to Wynncore, be sure and stop by the Red Card Club and get yourself a card. Just like your Mlife card, except it is literally red in color. I think new sign-ups get to spin the wheel for free play, buffets, etc.

Not sure why Encore costs more as you can use the pools in both places no matter where you stay. Have fun no matter where you play and stay!

Encore is the way to go IMO. Just felt more luxurious to me, and I've stayed in basic rooms at both properties. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I was there (2012) your room card automatically functioned as your player's card as well.

When I was at Wynn on November your room card acted as your players card.
