I'm planning my first trip to Vegas for this summer, and could not be more excited! My wife and I have decided after some (okay... an absurd amount of) research to focus our play at CET casinos in order to (hopefully) earn some free rooms for our next trip. We like that we can hop between casinos and have our theo pooled for room comps purposes. We are also definite low-rollers (gambling budget of $150 (for the two of us) per day over seven days), and we hear CET is our best bet. However, since we'll be there for a while and will have plenty of time to spread some of our play around, I'm thinking about trying to generate a teaser offer at a nicer place with not very much play. I realize that these marketing offers are pretty unpredictable, but I'm hoping to hear about some others' experiences to get an idea of what to expect. So, does anyone have personal experience with getting a teaser offer, without dropping a lot of money, at: Cosmopolitan Wynn/Encore SLS Bellagio Aria Hard Rock I've left off Venetian/Palazzo in light of the horror stories of the hotel trying to charge people who lowplay them. I would never agree to such a charge, but I just don't want the hassle. Based on our budget, I'm assuming that our stay at any of these places would be considered a lowplay. I'm fine with that - just looking to stay there once! So, if you've gotten a teaser offer from one of these places, I'm curious to know how much coin-in you had (obviously approx. numbers are fine) on what kind of game, and the details of the offer. The first part is particularly important - so often I see reference to offers given "with not very much play", but without some numbers that doesn't mean much.
V/P will not charge you if you low play. Wynn will give you discounted rooms. Cosmo won't give you much either. V/P is actually your best bet. Play there just 1 day for as much coin-in as you can afford.
They have a bankroll of $150/day between the 2 of them. Do you really think V/P is their best bet? Of the list of properties, my guess would be The Hard Rock since it's off strip.
I have the same doubt. My daily bankroll is more than the OP stated total trip bankroll. And I played many times at V/P, never get a teaser offer. (The reason I keep playing there is I am pretty lucky there. Got my only Vegas Royal Flush there, plus several good hand pays.)
Teaser offers are for new players. If you have played before they won't give you anything but if you haver never played there and put $1,000 coin-in (cycle your $150 through the machine) they will probably send a teaser offer.
we were actually pretty lucky with teasers from Wynn/Encore. We got 2-3 nights at wynn x2 and Encore once. BTW our play is not much higher than yours maybe $200 a day. YMMV.
We popped in the Wynn/Encore 2 years back, we played $200 for 2 hours our first visit. We received 2-3 nights teaser.
I barely played a dime at Cosmo and they sent me two free nights. I used those and barely played there and all was fine. I only get free buffets now though.
I got a teaser offer from Cosmo for 2 nights midweek after the first time I played there last summer (no coin in stats, but I think I lost about about $300 on a $5 slot). I think you will get a teaser offer from any MGM property if you have no history with them, probably the more you play the better, but I think you will get one even if you just cycle $100 through. I had a 3-4 year history with V/P but hadn't set foot in there in the last 3 years. I walked through in Feb and ran a couple of hundred through a $5 slot, lost $100, and had what I consider a teaser offer within a couple of days - 3 nights midweek & $100 freeplay (it's possible that this is a "recapture" offer based on old history, instead of a teaser)
Thanks all - looks like I've got a few options, so I'll probably wander through the suggested casinos and drop some money in the one or two I like, and hope for the best!
We were last in Vegas in Oct 2013 and stayed 2 night mirage 2 nights Monte Carlo courtesy of myvegas. Our daily gambling budget was pretty much identical to yours and I got an mlife spring offer which covered free nights in any property varying from 2-4 nights, $50 fp and $25 rc. I booked 2 nights Bellagio, which I was going to book anyway. I was astounded to get the offer, especially being from the UK
I took a friend to Cosmo who had never been to Vegas. We stayed at Palms but spent one afternoon gambling at Cosmo. She played Aladdin machine for about 3 hours starting with $40 and got a 2 night Cosmo offer (yay because she's coming back with me in May...you got another one Vegas). She's a low roller but was able to get lots of play at Palms and got a 2-night offer there as well. 4 of our 5 nights are comped for her in May. Not bad after a low budget first trip to Vegas and makes me happy that she can get her room because NEVER again will I share a room with anyone but my husband. That's a whole other story though
Cosmo is a possibility (many have received teaser offers of free nights for micro roller play, myself included) For the others listed you will get discount offers, but you would need a small miracle to get free rooms. CET is a little easier. I rarely gamble on the strip, but did a all nighter of casino hopping recently. My quarter VP play at the bar tops was enough to get me a 2 night CET offer. This wasn't heavy quarter play, it was an hour here and hour there played at a slow pace.
