So WP this was the shuttered Fitzgeralds? Anyone been since it reopened? And what's up with Siena, which looked like a great idea but just seemed to fizzle from the get-go?

    Thanks.

Whitney Peak was Fitzgeralds. It was open when i was there last summer i believe, but i didn't go in, since there is no casino and i wasn't staying there. It looked nice though, and is in a good location. I don't have any experience with Siena though.

    Ken,
Yeah, WP was the former Fitz...it's some kind of "extreme sports" Boutique hotel?

Also, Siena took a huge dump...former owner Barney Ng basically used it as leverage and lost the property...since they've reopened, I've been in there ONCE (because they were matching other Reno offers; so I hit them for $400 and a free weekend stay) and never looked back.
Where did you end up staying, GSR?

    Thanks.

Planning ahead for an August trip.

A local told me it is a cool hotel in the "neon wasteland." He must be thinking of those twin eyesores, Peppermill and Atlantis. lol

Whitney Peak is a non-gaming facility. Their back-lit billboard inside the airport and their tv commercials make the joint look really nice. I don't know much about Siena, except they have a great location with regards to the Ace's games.

A Gilley's? What do they think they are, the Vegas Strip? Too bad. Always liked the Nugget.

Our little junket is at the end of the month, C. :(

Nugget lost the JA which is the Ascuagas......not the same anymore.
Worse yet, they got rid of virtually ALL my Fav vp machines. Gutted.
And my Best host in the world left there, so did I.....
So I'm liking Silver Legacy. Its inbetween Circus & ElDorado.
We usually get a spa suite, spacious, and plenty of machines to my liking.
Sorry to miss you in Aug.
Had a feeling you would avoid the crowds at HAN. lol

She went to Silver Legacy ;)
Also, that's good to know they gutted the video poker..when the new director of Marketing took over, he 86'd all "AP" video poker players..including me, so I never went back...but I figured the "corporation" would decimate anything good.
