It's about time. Didn't care for the place much. I hope they will renovate the rooms as well, because a large section of those could use a renovation. At the same time, I'm wondering where they would get the cash considering the CET bancruptcy.

The GO rooms are actually nice. A couple of years ago, I stayed in a GO room facing the Strip and it had amenities like a glass shower, a nice faux leather headboard, motorized curtains and a TV in the mirror. The FAB rooms are a bit beat up and a top to bottom reno would really help the place. I'm considering jumping ship for Mlife, but if I were to stay with Caesars, I would make a renovated Flamingo my home base.

I thought the FAB rooms were remodeled earlier this decade. Lol. Too cheap of a room reno maybe? They were in okay shape when I stayed there in June 2012.

It's not enough. They need to do an exterior touch up too, especially in light of the High Roller. It's shocking how worn down the Flamingo looks from that perspective.

This casino makeover has been going on since November. I took pics inside Flamingo but discarded them. I would have to detour around the pylons because they were putting new carpets in. This was the entrance coming out of Cromwell. Either they are really slow or maybe doing a complete makeover of the casino.

Yeah I too was sad to see Bugsys bar closed last week. They told me it would reopen after they renovated it. I'm glad to see money being put into my old home base. Maybe after the renovations I will move back, but I do love Aria though

Really? I've never noticed and I love staying there.

If they'd do more renos, I'd say the vallet and check-in area. But I'm not sure what type of facelift people want? The front is almost all glass windows.

A face lift at Flamingo literally means not having Donny & Marie's faces stare down at you with their surgically enhanced face lifts......LOL.

They have been slowly putting money into the place. Mostly in the higher revenue generating areas. Minor pool updates 3 years ago, Margaritiville Casino and recently expansion of Margaritiville upon linq promenade.
Tearing out of old North lobby and tournament area. Carlos N Charlies (at the expense of the sports book). Diamond Lounge a few years ago, The luxury to Fab room (cheapo) remodel.

The Dirty Bird is getting the minimal updates to keep the property relevant, and CET has managed to shift the demographic from the old timers who made it their home base to a younger crowd. Flamingo is the equivalent of MGM lower tier properties ( Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY) and is a major TR hotel that CET gives away a lot of room nights to drive other resort revenue. They don't really have the meeting space of other CET properties so don't look for any major $$ to flow into this place.

I'd be interested in seeing how much more revenue the pool brings in since the renovations.

So glad they are changing the surface around the pool. Buddy of mine had blisters all over his hands from the push-up contest a couple years ago. My feet were on fire trying to get around. One year I had just ruptured both sides of my ankle and had to hop around as fast as I could. Somehow I never ate it in the concrete.

I'm staying here now. Lots of renovations going on. Looks like they have finished replacing all the carpet on the casino floor. Bugsys bar is back open. Inside of Habitat elevators are being redone. Lots of renovations going on in pool areas. Don't have much to complain about except the damn time share people harrasing you everytime you come off or on habitat elevators.

Are the elevators still that tacky brass color?

Any activity at the Cafe? Or are they just leaving it closed for the time being?

They've allowed the Flamingo to slowly deteriorate for many years. It will be no easy undertaking to bring this property back up to what it once was.

Nothing going on with the Cafe so far and the buffet is only open for breakfast and lunch/brunch.

DReynolds86...... Yes, still, the same tacky interiors of the elevators, including one in the Habitat bank that had the entire side with the floor buttons coming off the interior elevator wall.

I have seen nicer elevators in parking garages.......by the way, the Flamingo garage is a total dump, and the elevators bounce up and down at the floors with the doors open. Valet is the key at this hotel, if they have room !
